Machine Operator – Injection Moulding (Preform Manufacturing) at Highlands Drinks Limited

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate injection molding machines according to production plans.
  • Monitor machine parameters such as temperature, pressure, and cycle time to maintain consistent quality.
  • Load raw materials (PET resin, colorant) into the machine hopper.
  • Inspect preforms for defects such as bubbles, flash, or uneven wall thickness.
  • Perform routine machine start-up, shut-down, and product changeovers.
  • Document production data including quantities, defects, and downtime.
  • Assist with mold changes and basic machine maintenance.
  • Keep the work area clean and free from hazards.
  • Comply with safety, GMP, and quality assurance requirements.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • KCSE Certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience in injection molding operations (preferred).
  • Basic mechanical knowledge and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and meet production targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up, operate, and monitor the filler machine during production runs.
  • Adjust machine settings to achieve correct fill volumes and minimize product loss.
  • Perform changeovers for different product types, container sizes, and packaging formats.
  • Conduct routine checks for leaks, misfills, or quality defects.
  • Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and hygiene standards.
  • Record production data such as output quantities, downtime, and defects.
