The Purpose of the role
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Technical Operator
to operate and monitor filler machine equipment within our production plant.
The role is responsible for ensuring smooth machine operations, minimizing
downtime, maintaining product quality, and supporting safe and efficient
production processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate
and monitor technical equipment, machinery, or systems according to
standard procedures.
- Perform
routine inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment.
- Identify
and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Maintain
accurate logs, reports, and documentation of operations and incidents.
- Ensure
compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate
with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to optimize
performance.
- Assist
in installation, testing, and calibration of new equipment.
- Monitor
system performance and recommend improvements where necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
- Diploma
in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related
Engineering course).
- Minimum
of 2 years’ experience operating a liquid beverage filling machine.
- Ability
to understand mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Working
knowledge of OSHA, Lean Manufacturing, and Good Manufacturing Practices
(GMP).
- Good
communication skills and ability to work effectively in teams.

The Purpose of the role
As a Production Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible
for production line operations in accordance with plant policies and procedures
Detailed responsibilities include:
- Ensure
smooth production operation during shift
- Train
and coach production line employees and conduct their performance reviews
- Responsible
for shift schedule to include workstation assignments/rotations, employee
training, employee vacations, employee breaks, overtime assignment,
back-up for absent employees, and shift rotations.
- Coordinate
production start-ups, shutdowns, and changeovers.
- Responsible
for quality control during shift to produce product within specifications,
meeting shift production goals, Preparing and submitting production
reports timely and ensuring a clean and safe work area
- Attending
daily operation review meetings and make production presentation as
necessary
- Managing
health and safety at work.
- keep
records of workers’ attendance report
- Initiate
and give Direction on any process changes to ensure product specifications
are achieved and maintained by controlling and stopping non-conforming
products from further processing.
- Through
effective production line balancing, ensuring employee skills progression
for maximum output and plants optimization.
- Ensuring
standard operating procedures are adhered to
- Provide
guidance and assistance to a team of production machine operators and
assistance
- Any
other duty as may be assigned from time to time.
Education and Experience Level and Other Desirable
Attributes
- Diploma
in Engineering, Food Science, Chemistry or related filed plus 3 years’
experience in a similar role.

Machine Operator – Injection Moulding (Preform Manufacturing) at Highlands Drinks Limited
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate
injection molding machines according to production plans.
- Monitor
machine parameters such as temperature, pressure, and cycle time to
maintain consistent quality.
- Load
raw materials (PET resin, colorant) into the machine hopper.
- Inspect
preforms for defects such as bubbles, flash, or uneven wall thickness.
- Perform
routine machine start-up, shut-down, and product changeovers.
- Document
production data including quantities, defects, and downtime.
- Assist
with mold changes and basic machine maintenance.
- Keep
the work area clean and free from hazards.
- Comply
with safety, GMP, and quality assurance requirements.
Qualifications & Skills:
- KCSE
Certificate or equivalent.
- Experience
in injection molding operations (preferred).
- Basic
mechanical knowledge and problem-solving ability.
- Ability
to work under minimal supervision and meet production targets.
- Strong
commitment to quality and safety.
Machine Operator – Filler at Highlands Drinks Limited
Key Responsibilities:
- Set
up, operate, and monitor the filler machine during production runs.
- Adjust
machine settings to achieve correct fill volumes and minimize product
loss.
- Perform
changeovers for different product types, container sizes, and packaging
formats.
- Conduct
routine checks for leaks, misfills, or quality defects.
- Ensure
compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and hygiene standards.
- Record
production data such as output quantities, downtime, and defects.
- Clean
and sanitize filling equipment as per standard operating procedures.
- Report
equipment malfunctions to maintenance for timely repairs.
- Follow
safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE at all times.
Qualifications & Skills:
- KCSE
Certificate or equivalent.
- Previous
experience in machine operation in a manufacturing environment
(preferred).
- Basic
mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability
to read and follow work instructions and production schedules.
- Strong
attention to detail and quality focus.
