Machine Operator – Injection Moulding (Preform Manufacturing) at Highlands Drinks Limited

Key Responsibilities:

Operate injection molding machines according to production plans.
Monitor machine parameters such as temperature, pressure, and cycle time to maintain consistent quality.
Load raw materials (PET resin, colorant) into the machine hopper.
Inspect preforms for defects such as bubbles, flash, or uneven wall thickness.
Perform routine machine start-up, shut-down, and product changeovers.
Document production data including quantities, defects, and downtime.
Assist with mold changes and basic machine maintenance.
Keep the work area clean and free from hazards.
Comply with safety, GMP, and quality assurance requirements.

Qualifications & Skills:

Key Responsibilities:

Set up, operate, and monitor the filler machine during production runs.
Adjust machine settings to achieve correct fill volumes and minimize product loss.
Perform changeovers for different product types, container sizes, and packaging formats.
Conduct routine checks for leaks, misfills, or quality defects.
Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and hygiene standards.
Record production data such as output quantities, downtime, and defects.
Clean and sanitize filling equipment as per standard operating procedures.
Report equipment malfunctions to maintenance for timely repairs.
Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE at all times.

Qualifications & Skills:

KCSE Certificate or equivalent.
Previous experience in machine operation in a manufacturing environment (preferred).
Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to read and follow work instructions and production schedules.
Strong attention to detail and quality focus.
