Plant Operator at Embu Water and Sanitation Company
JOB REFERENCE: EWASCO/HR/CORP/C002/2026
Reporting to the Logistics Officer, the successful candidate
will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating backhoe excavator to
perform excavation, trenching, grading, lifting, and material handling tasks on
construction and infrastructure projects. The operator ensures work is
completed according to project specifications, safety standards, and schedules.
OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate
backhoe excavator to dig trenches, foundations, and holes.
- Perform
grading, backfilling, and material loading/unloading
- Read
and interpret site plans, drawings, and grade stakes
- Conduct
daily equipment inspection and basic maintenance (fuelling, greasing,
fluid checks)
- Ensure
safe operation around underground utilities, structures, and personnel
- Communicate
effectively with supervisors, spotters, and ground crews
- Follow
all company policies, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Maintain
a clean and organized work area
- Report
equipment issues, hazards, or incidents promptly
- Assist
with general site duties as required when not operating equipment
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Key Qualifications and Experience
- Form 4
Certificate, grade D+
- Valid
driving license (B, C1 and C)
- Valid
heavy equipment operator certification or license (G)
- At
least 5 years relevant plant operation experience

Security Officer at Embu Water and Sanitation Company
Embu Water and Sanitation Company Limited, a private water
utility Company fully owned by the County Government of Embu and with a mandate
to provide water and sanitation services in Embu County is seeking to recruit a
self-driven individual for the position of Security Officer.
Reporting to the Head of Corporate Services, the successful
candidate will be responsible for coordinating provision of security of all
Company assets and Company property.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervise
duties undertaken by the Assistant security Officers.
Operational Responsibilities
- Implementing
security services, practices and procedures within the Company premises.
- Securing
premises and personnel by patrolling property, monitoring surveillance
equipment, inspecting buildings, equipment and access points
- Developing
and implementing standard operating procedures for reporting, and dealing
with incidents when applicable
- Ensuring
that all the office windows are closed every day after the end of
operations.
- Securing
all exits, doors and windows after end of operations
- Liaising
with law enforcement in the case of suspected or reported criminal
activity
- Leading
in cases of loss of company property and ensuring the case is finalized.
- Planning
and coordinating the security operations.
- Continuous
monitoring of office property for security purposes.
- Checking
surveillance cameras (CCTV) periodically to identify disruptions or
unlawful act.
- Ensuring
that all the reported cases on vandalism and stollen meter cases are acted
upon
- Examining
the gate registers so as to monitor and control traffic movement.
- Visiting
satellite offices weekly for security checks and operations.
- Investigating
persons suspected for suspicious activities.
- Preventing
losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of
policy and procedures; restraining trespassers within the company’s
premises
- Maintaining
database records both in soft and hard copies including those used to
track safety and security data
- Responding
to emergencies to provide necessary assistance to employees and customers
- Representing
the Company in court proceedings as expected
- Ensuring
that the outsourced security firms carry out their duties as expected by
the Company.
- Assisting
in dealing with arising security matters including handling culprits.
- Preparing
varied reports as required.
- Undertaking
continuous professional development to keep up with trends within the
industry.
- Undertaking
any other duties as may be assigned.
