This role is to provide technical and operational support in identifying, analysing and measuring operational risks areas and make appropriate risk mitigation recommendations in accordance with the Hospital’s policies, procedures and guidelines.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in developing the annual work program for Risk and Compliance and implement the approved action plan;
  • Participate in the development and upgrading of the Hospital’s Operational Risk identification and assessment methodologies;
  • Conduct operational and process risk analysis in the Hospital’s clinical areas as per the Hospital’s Policies, Procedures and guidelines;
  • Identify and measure possible operational risks of the Hospital based on aggregate measures of business activity such as gross revenue, fee income, operating costs, managed assets or total assets adjusted for off-balance sheet exposures, etc.
  • Analyse operational risks including the potential loss arising from internal activities or external events caused by break down of information, communication, physical safeguard, business continuity, etc.;
  • Perform tests and checks to monitor conformity with operational and process risk methodologies and standards as well as monitor effectiveness of internal control systems;
  • Assist in investigations of process events and the preparation of reports including identification of systematic root causes and themes for escalation to the Head of Risk & Compliance;
  • Aggregate and analyse risk events reported by the business units;
  • Assist in identification of key risk indicators in different business units, as well as in formulation of action plans to address any gaps;
  • Assist in development of operational risk registers for each department;
  • Assist in investigations involving employees that are suspected of or have been involved in unethical behaviour, fraud, or other illegal activities against the Hospital or in relation to their work;
  • Prepare training materials in operational and process risk;
  • Provide assistance in conducting trainings on operational and process risk;
  • Ensure that tasks are completed to the agreed standards within the agreed time scales; and
  • Any other responsibilities that may be assigned to the job holder by the supervisor from time to time.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Risk Management, Economics, Information Technology, Law, Accounting, Finance, or Banking from a reputable University.
  • Professional certification in Risk Management; Financial Risk Management (FRM), RCP Level 3, Chartered Risk Analyst (CRA) or Governance Risk and Compliance Management (GRCM) is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ relevant work experience

HEALTH AND SAFETY OFFICER REF: TNH/HHR/HSO/05/2026

Reporting to the Quality Coordinator, the Health and Safety Officer will be responsible for the implementation, coordination, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the Hospital’s Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) across the Main Hospital and Outpatient Centres (OPCs), ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory, and international standards, including ISO 45001:2018.

Key Responsibilities

Occupational Health & Safety Management

  • Coordinating and sustaining the Occupational Health and Safety Management System OHSMS) and ISO 45001:2018 certification across the Hospital and OPCs.
  • Conducting comprehensive hazard identification, risk assessments, and job hazard analyses for all operational activities.
  • Developing and implementing safe systems of work and permit-to-work systems for high-risk activities.
  • Leading occupational health and safety incident investigations, root cause analyses, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensuring all occupational accidents and incidents are appropriately documented, investigated, and reported to relevant regulatory authorities, including the Directorate of Occupational Safety and Health Services (DOSHS).

Compliance & Regulatory Coordination

  • Ensuring compliance with OSHA 2007 and other applicable occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Coordinating statutory audits, inspections, regulatory tests, and follow-up actions for the Main Hospital and OPCs.

Policy Development & Risk Management

  • Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) programmes

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ relevant experience in occupational health and safety, preferably within a healthcare environment.
  • Professional certification or registration with relevant bodies such as DOSHS, NEMA, NEBOSH, or equivalent.

Clinical/Radiation Oncologist at The Nairobi Hospital

  • Reporting to the Director Medical Services and Research, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following amongst others:
  • Managing and treating cancer patients in a multidisciplinary team in coordination with other oncology subspecialties and the other departmental staff throughout the entire course of cancer treatment.
  • Implement clinical decisions for specialized quality inpatient and outpatient care that include provision of promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative services;
  • Conducting clinical duties in addition to basic administrative duties, such as maintaining records, coordinating with other medical personnel, to offer treatment to patients.
  • Champion continuous quality healthcare standards and patient safety guidelines
  • Implementing clinical review protocols procedures and work instructions for the practice of specialized care
  • Writing prescriptions, providing specific cancer information to patients, monitoring treatment plans and improving patients’ quality of life.
  • Caring for patients throughout the entire course of cancer treatment, from diagnosis to recovery or death.
  • Ensure quality assurance is achieved on equipment, accessories and treatment plans to enhance patient safety
  • Maintain accurate database of patient information and treatment plans.
  • Active participation in Multi-Disciplinary Team meetings and able to consult widely with other sub specialties in Oncology for the best interest of the patient.
  • Be research oriented and able to enhance evidence based practice
  • Any other duty assigned from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Master’s Degree in Clinical/Radiation Oncology.
  • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, (MBChB)
  • Specialist Recognition from Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council
  • Valid registration and annual practice license
  • Minimum experience (over 2 years)
  • Sound diagnostic skills and judgment
  • Valid license from Kenya Radiation Protection Board
  • Delivery of radiotherapy in a facility equipped with Intensity Modulated Radiation
  • Therapy, Prostate brachytherapy, Volumetric Arc Therapy and Radio-Iodine
  • Treatment will be an added advantage

Senior Registrar – Internal Medicine at The Nairobi Hospital

Reporting to Director, Medical Services & Research, the successful applicants will be responsible for carrying out clinical procedures and clinical management of in-patient and outpatient patients in order to offer curative services in line with established protocols and the hospital’s patient care objectives.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Carry out initial patient assessment, treatment, stabilization and referrals in line with the patients’ condition in order to achieve optimal patient care.
  • Carry out non-emergency and emergency procedures on patients in consultation with the Specialist and/or Consultant.
  • Carry outward rounds for daily clinical progress and management of patients in consultation with the Specialist and/or Consultant.
  • Mentor medical officers in clinical procedures to impart knowledge and improve patient care.
  • Participate in continuous medical evaluations to sharpen medical knowledge and skills in area of specialization.
  • Pursue mentorship opportunities in applicable specialty area under a specialist or consultant in compliance with the specialist recognition requirements.
  • Participate in patient reviews in outpatient clinics as and when required.
  • Participate in research activities in applicable specialty area in line with set objectives.
  • Participate in the development and/or review of protocols in applicable specialty area to enhance clinical management.
  • Ensure high levels of patient confidentiality and work ethic in line with applicable code of conduct and hospital objectives; and
  • Any other responsibilities that may be assigned to the job holder by the supervisor from time to time.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Master of Medicine degree in applicable area of specialization as applicable from a recognized institution.
  • Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery degree from a recognized institution.
  • Must be registered by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Council and hold a valid practicing license.
  • Basic Life Support training.
  • Advanced Trauma Life Support training.
  • LSO Advanced Life Support training
