Responsibilities

The role-holder duties will include and not limited to:

  • Maintain and improve Transmission (Microwave, IPRAN and fiber) network quality through regular review and proactive solution-based plans to meet service level objectives
  • Drive transmission network expansion in line with the business strategy.
  • Monitor performance of the Transmission network (Microwave, IPRAN, VSAT and Fibre) through available statistics to determine required transmission network upgrades / expansions and improve service quality.
  • Inventory management to ensure company property is accurately recorded.
  • Ensure availability and continuous improvement of Microwave network, IPRAN network and Fibre access network. 
  • Ensure that microwave, IPRAN and Fibre access projects / deployments are conducted in accordance with relevant matrixes and within budget
  • Validate microwave, IPRAN and Fibre access network designs in alignment with the respective vendor teams.
  • Evaluate strategic partners’ Transmission Network proposals and compare this with network projections and Airtel design guidelines.
  • Ensure upgrades plans for all links operating above 70% and accurate quantification of transmission links in the network.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual returns to the regulator and for budgeting purposes.
  • Oversee transmission network change request management and acceptance test verification by checking, validating, and recommending for approval of proposed changes. 
  • Review the acceptance tests and compare them with planning data.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Required Competencies

  • Graduate degree in engineering/technology (Electronics & Communication) 
  • 4-5 years of requisite experience in Transmission Planning and Optimization of (Microwave, IPRAN and Fibre Optics networks) with good understanding of transmissions networks.
  • Deep understanding of latest technological trends in Transmission Network, including classical Microwave, IPRAN and DWDM systems, etc.
  • Experience in operating in a multivendor environment.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • A team player with strong organizational skills

  • The Retail Experience Manager will lead the operational management of 540+ Company-Owned, Company-Operated (COCO) retail stores across Africa. The role holders’ mission is to drive profitability, customer satisfaction, and brand excellence while ensuring compliance and process innovation.

Airtel Money Legal & Regulatory Manager at Airtel

Responsibilities

Duties will include and not limited to:

  • Drive the Internal Audit plan and effectively coordinate with external partners to ensure execution
  • Supporting the Compliance Manager in obtaining all relevant licences, authorizations, services (products and tariff) approvals as per the law and regulations.
  • Preparation and submission of quarterly and annual compliance reports to the Communications Authority and other relevant government authorities as may be required.

  • Maintain legal and regulatory internal compliance checklists.
  • End to end management and coordination of Shareholder Meetings, Board of Directors meetings and Board Committee meetings 
  • Preparation and submission of monthly, quarterly reports and filing of all statutory annual returns, 
  • Ensuring smooth relations and interface with other Divisions within the Company-on-Company Secretarial matters and corporate documents and records.

Qualifications and Required Competencies

  • Law Degree and an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya. A master’s degree in law, business or economics is an added advantage.
  • A Certified Public Secretary (CPS(K)) with a valid certificate of good standing 
  • Excellent knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to a telecommunications company.
  • Strong work ethics with a positive “get it done” attitude.
