Responsibilities
Duties will include and not limited to:
- Drive
the Internal Audit plan and effectively coordinate with external partners
to ensure execution
- Supporting
the Compliance Manager in obtaining all relevant licences, authorizations,
services (products and tariff) approvals as per the law and regulations.
- Preparation
and submission of quarterly and annual compliance reports to the
Communications Authority and other relevant government authorities as may
be required.
- Review
of new and proposed legislation, advice on its impact on the Airtel money
activities.
- Support
in engagement activities with (including without limitation) the
Communications Authority, the Central Bank of Kenya, Financial Reporting
Center and the Unclaimed Assets Authority.
- Prepares
and submits monthly and quarterly reports to general management level and
highlights significant events promptly.
- Support
Business with mobile money commercial partnerships, review all Airtel
Mobile Money contracts to support Commercial and Product teams with
contract negotiation towards minimizing liabilities and adverse exposure
for the Company.
- Manage
case files, settlements, reporting requirements (monthly legal register,
show cause notice register) and external’ engagement in line with Airtel
Money policies.
- Maintain
legal and regulatory internal compliance checklists.
- End to
end management and coordination of Shareholder Meetings, Board of
Directors meetings and Board Committee meetings
- Preparation
and submission of monthly, quarterly reports and filing of all statutory
annual returns,
- Ensuring
smooth relations and interface with other Divisions within the
Company-on-Company Secretarial matters and corporate documents and
records.
Qualifications
Qualifications and Required Competencies
- Law
Degree and an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya. A master’s degree in
law, business or economics is an added advantage.
- A
Certified Public Secretary (CPS(K)) with a valid certificate of good
standing
- Excellent
knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to a telecommunications
company.
- Strong
work ethics with a positive “get it done” attitude.
- Good
organization skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Good
interpersonal and communication skills with a team-focused attitude.
- Confident,
voracious reader with an analytical mind, a desire to excel and a passion
for legal work and the telecommunications industry.

Interns go through the Airtel Internship Program’s welcome
to Airtel orientation program on their first day, and a follow-up is done
months later to ensure that you have struck the ground running.
Requirements for Airtel Internship Program:
- · Only students who are recommended to undertake internships by their university should apply i.e. students should possess a letter of recommendation from their university.
- · Internship places are available for the period of 1st June – 31st August in several departments depending on the course being pursued.
- · Please note that our preferred interns are 2nd-year students for those doing the 3-year course and 2nd & 3rd-year students for students doing 4-5 year courses.
- · Participants must have a LinkedIn account and follow Airtel on LinkedIn to qualify.
- · All applications for internships should be submitted online through the Airtel official website page.
- · All those who had delivered their applications to Airtel are advised to re-apply online.
- · Participants will be expected to answer the 20 Questions in 9 minutes and after 9 minutes the system will time out and submit the answered questions by then.
- · Applications should be submitted before the deadline midnight. The Internship Application tap will thereafter be disabled from the Airtel website page.
- · Only successful applicants will be contacted.
- · Successful applicants will be subject to a secondary and final interview.
- · The names of the applicants after the final interview will be published on our website and social media platforms.

1. Candidate Application
- After
reading a job posting, apply for the position that best matches your
profile and interest area by emailing your CV, and application to hr@ke.airtel.com
2. Screening
- We
match your profile with the requirements of our role.
Once a vacancy has closed, applications are short listed which takes a period of about 3-5 days after the vacancy closing. On completion the successful candidates are contacted informing them of the proposed interview schedule
3. Interview
- Once
you are successful, you are contacted with a link to an online assessment
test. If recommended then you are contacted with information on the
interview schedule, nature of interview (oral or written) venue, time and
all relevant details that will be required at the interview
4. Assessment
- If
you are applying for an internship or frontline Sales job in airtel, you
are required to undergo an aptitude test.
- If
you are being considered for middle to senior level management role, then
you'll be required to undergo an Oral Interview and an Occupational
Personality Questionnaire
5. Verification
- In
case of final selection, we will conduct a reference check on the
credentials provided by you.
6. After The Interview
- All
candidates will be informed of the outcome of their interview within 2
weeks of attending the interview.
7. Joining & On - Boarding
- We
understand how you may feel during your initial days in a new
organization; and hence we'll be constantly with you during this crucial
time and thereafter for your entire journey with us!
- Here you will go through the Welcome to airtel orientation programme on the first day of joining and a follow up is made 3 months within your joining to ensure that you have hit the ground running. However your HR Business Partner and Line Manager are responsible for ensuring a smooth settling in throughout the on boarding program.
