Assistant Accountant at Galana Energies
About the role
The Assistant Accountant will be responsible for providing
financial and administrative support to our financial operations to ensure
overall efficiency and compliance with internal controls and regulations.
Key duties will include: –
- Record
day-to-day financial transactions in the accounting system.
- Perform
monthly bank, supplier and customer account reconciliations.
- Monitor
outstanding receivables, follow up on collections and process supplier
payments in a timely and accurate manner.
- Prepare
and submit statutory returns such as VAT, Withholding Tax.
- Assist
in reconciling inventory and support in investigating variances.
- Assist
in the preparation of monthly management accounts and other internal
reports.
- Provide
documentation and assist auditors during internal and external audits.
- Ensure
adherence to financial policies, procedures and internal controls across
the company.
Requirements:-
- A
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics or other related
fields.
- CPA
(K) or ACCA certification.
- At
least 2 years experience in Finance/ Accounting, preferably in Oil and
Gas.
- Thorough
knowledge of accounting procedures and principles.
- Proficiency
in report writing.
- Proficiency
in MS Excel/Accounting software. Strong attention to detail.
