Overview
As a Solution Area Specialist – Cloud & AI,
you will bring impactful industry insights into customer engagements and close
deals with customers. Explore and assess the needs of strategic and
high-potential customers. Lead the planning and execution of opportunities with
internal resources and partners to cross-sell and up-sell. Leverage and share
competitor knowledge across solution areas as a subject matter expert to inform
decisions on whether to pursue or withdraw from opportunities. Coach others on
ensuring customer and partner satisfaction, and reduce dissatisfaction by
establishing recovery action plans to improve the overall client experience.
Lead forecasting for your accounts and develop a portfolio and territory plan
to drive intentional selling with on-strategy engagements in high-propensity
accounts.

Responsibilities
- Drive
Strategic Sales Execution – Lead personal campaigns and
orchestrate account teams to discover new opportunities, build pipeline,
and close strategic deals using Microsoft’s sales process.
- Engage
High-Level Stakeholders – Act as a thought leader and advisor to
executive-level decision makers, guiding solution development and
articulating long-term business value.
- Lead
Market Expansion and Innovation – Build and transform new markets
by leveraging technical and industry expertise, partners, and resources to
facilitate customer innovation and optimize portfolios.
- Orchestrate
Cross-Functional Collaboration – Coordinate internal stakeholders
and partners across solution areas to scale business results, validate
partner relevance, and promote cross-sell/up-sell opportunities.
- Accelerate
Customer Success and Satisfaction – Manage end-to-end business
for strategic accounts, lead forecasting and territory planning, and coach
others on recovery plans to improve client experience.
- Provide
Technical and Competitive Insights – Share best practices, mentor
others, and contribute competitive analysis to inform pursuit strategies
and product development across Microsoft teams.
- Champion
Digital Transformation – Lead virtual transformational shifts,
integrate partners into planning, and advise customers across business
functions to drive deployment and create business value.
Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
- Bachelor’s
Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business
Administration, or related field AND 6+ years technology-related sales or
account management experience
- OR
7+ years technology-related sales or account management experience.
Additional or preferred qualifications
- Master’s
Degree in Business Administration (i.e., MBA), Information Technology, or
related field AND 5+ years technology-related sales or account management
experience
- OR
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, or related field AND 8+
years technology-related sales or account management experience
- OR
9+ years technology-related sales or account management experience.
- 6+
years solution or services sales experience.
