PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The job holder will be responsible for the treatment of raw and effluent water according to the required specifications while ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to the procedures and safety guidelines.

SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Add chemicals, such as alum, soda ash or chlorine for disinfection of water.
  • Inspect equipment on a regular basis.
  • Monitor operating conditions, meters, and gauges.
  • Collect and test water and effluent samples.
  • Record meter and gauge readings and operational data.
  • Document and report test results to regulatory agencies.
  • Operate equipment to purify and clarify water or to process or dispose of effluent.
  • Clean and maintain equipment, tanks, filter beds, and other work areas.
  • Follow Kenya, National environmental management authority regulations.
  • Ensure safety standards are met.
  • Maintain and update accurate records for treatment process.
  • Monitor all operational issues and report any malfunctions.
  • Maintain efficient use of pumps and machines.
  • Observes control panel, records readings.
  • Collects samples of treatment solutions and sludge for laboratory analysis.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Diploma in Water Engineering.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of water and effluent.
  • Knowledge of effluent treatment standards.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft office suite.

Kenchic PLC is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Quality Controller to join our Quality Assurance Department. This role is responsible for quality conformance checks and inspection of ingredients, raw materials, packaging materials, in-process and finished products. This role ensures that all products meet established food safety and quality requirements while driving a culture of continuous improvement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implement and monitor quality and food safety requirements across receiving, production, storage, and dispatch.
  • Conduct real-time quality checks, sampling, laboratory testing, and sensory evaluations.
  • Ensure accurate documentation, traceability, and timely reporting of product quality and process deviations.
  • Investigate product nonconformities, customer complaints, and support root cause analysis with timely corrective actions.
  • Participate in new product development, including testing, reporting, and specification development.
  • Conduct internal audits, monitor GMP and hygiene compliance, and ensure sanitation schedules are met.
  • Manage QA programs, records, and compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide quality and food safety training to staff to support a sustainable quality culture.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Diploma in Food Science/Technology, Chemistry, Biology, or related discipline (bachelor’s degree is an advantage).
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in FMCG or food manufacturing.
  • Sound knowledge of FSSC 22000, HACCP, GMP, and QMS.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a team player.

ICT Officer at Kenchic Limited

The ICT Officer will be responsible for supporting ICT-led business transformation initiatives across the Group. This role will bridge the gap between ICT and business units, ensuring seamless implementation, adoption and optimization of Microsoft Dynamics platforms, business analytics tools, and innovation projects. This role will also provide ICTO support, driving structured execution of ICT and innovation projects.

Job responsibilities.

  • Project Coordination & Execution
  • Support rollout of key projects including Business Central, CRM and custom business tools. Work closely with innovation hubs and regional ICT leads to ensure alignment.
  • Maintain project timelines, deliverables, and post-implementation reviews.
  • Business Systems Optimization
  • Analyze and streamline business processes through Microsoft Dynamics (ERP & CRM).
  • Collaborate with functional departments to resolve data or configuration gaps. ✓Document workflows and provide user training/support during change processes.
  • Innovation & Digital Transformation
  • Assist in piloting Al, automation and CRM/ERP integrations with business functions. Participate in concept testing for digital tools e.g. Farmers App, CRM field modules. Help operationalize proof of concept projects and innovations from the Group ICT office.
  • Analytics & Reporting
  • Develop dashboards and reports using Power BI or equivalent tools.
  • Support data warehouse development and interim data integration structures. Enable insights-driven decision-making by aligning reporting with KPIs.

Candidate’s profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or related field.
  • 5+ years’ experience in implementing network infrastructure & supporting Microsoft Dynamics 365 (ERP and CRM).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics ERP, CRM, Power BI, Data Analytics and general business analytics tools.
  • Demonstrated success in coordinating cross-functional projects, piloting innovations, and managing system rollouts.
  • Experience working in a regional or multi-country environment, with strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Exposure to or interest in Al, automation, and emerging tech tools in business
  • transformation is a trong advantage.
