Finance Associate at Ilara Health
The Finance Associate will work under the Head of Finance to
support the Finance and Accounting function in day-to-day operations as well as
maintain order and transparency for the companys finances. This will be a
permanent role that will involve accounting, reporting as well as ensuring
adherence to internal controls and statutory compliance.The ideal candidate
should be well versed in financial principles and able to work comfortably with
numbers and great attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect,
verify, and reconcile accounts payables records and its balances.
- Analyze
and prepare weekly accounts payables reconciliation reports for each of
our payment channels.
- Prepare
monthly bank reconciliation reports.
- Preparation
of assigned balance sheet schedules and assist in balancing general
ledger accounts.
- Prepare
adequate accruals for all unpaid invoices of a particular month and make
releases once payment has been effected. All accruals should be reconciled
to the general ledger on a monthly basis.
- Regular
issuing of updated monthly statements to vendors by the 3rd of the
subsequent month.
- Preparing
payment vouchers to ensure proper documentation and recording to the
accounting system on a daily basis.
- Ensuring
efficient, timely and accurate recording of payments and tracking of
accounts payable.
- Preparing
and processing bank payments and reconciliation of banking activities.
- Work
with internal teams to verify and clarify invoice and payment related
queries.
- Ensure
compliance with company policies, procedures, and financial controls.
- Support
month-end closing procedures by passing necessary entries.
- Assist
with audit related duties.
- Support

Requirements
- Proven
experience in accounts payable and bank reconciliations or a similar
transactional finance role.
- Strong
understanding of invoice processing, payment workflows, and bank
reconciliations. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- University
degree in Accounting, Finance,Commerce or related field.
- Enrolled,
part or fully qualified in the accounting profession with a recognized
institute (ACCA, CPA, and CIMA)
- High
integrity and exceptional work ethic.
- 2+
years experience in the accounting and finance sector.
- Audit
experience – Big 4 preferred.
- Knowledge
of IFRS and Kenyan tax legislation.
Pharmacy Operations Senior Associate at Ilara Health
The Pharmacy Operations Senior Associate is responsible for
overseeing daily operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving
performance across a designated cluster of pharmacies. This role ensures that
all branches operate efficiently, meet clinical and operational standards, and
deliver high-quality patient service.
Key Responsibilities:
Regulatory
Compliance
- Ensure
all pharmacies within the cluster are fully licensed by the Pharmacy and
Poisons Board (PPB).
- Confirm
that each pharmacy operates with a qualified and licensed Pharmaceutical
Technologist at all times.
- Ensure
100% compliance with all applicable pharmacy regulations, safety
standards, and professional guidelines.
- Conduct
regular compliance audits and develop improvement plans to address any
gaps.
Rota & Staffing Management
- Prepare
and maintain up-to-date duty rotas for all pharmacies within the cluster.
- Monitor
staff attendance, punctuality, and schedule adherence, and ensure adequate
shift coverage at all times.
Pharmaceutical Technologist (Pharm-Tech) Management
- Serve
as the direct line manager for Pharmaceutical Technologists.
- Provide
day-to-day supervision, coaching, and performance feedback.
- Conduct
regular performance evaluations and support professional development.
- Identify
training needs and coordinate with training teams to implement appropriate
development plans.
Operational Oversight & On-site Support
- Provide
hands-on support to pharmacy teams to ensure seamless daily operations.
- Identify
and proactively address operational challenges within the pharmacies.
- Monitor
the implementation of workflows, customer service standards, and
productivity targets.
Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) Compliance
- Ensure
strict adherence to all established SOPs across the cluster.
- Conduct
periodic audits to assess compliance and implement corrective actions
where necessary.
Inventory & Stock Management
- Oversee
inventory management processes at each location, including accurate stock
organization and stock handling.
- Conduct
routine cycle counts and spot checks to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Collaborate
with the procurement team to ensure timely restocking and appropriate
stock levels, minimizing expiries and stockouts.
- Monitor
and address issues related to inventory discrepancies, slow-moving stock,
and expired items.
Feedback & Communication Management
- Act as
the primary liaison between pharmacy staff, clinic partners (clinic owners
and clinicians), patients, and HQ.
- Gather
ongoing feedback on pharmacy operations, services, and challenges.
- Investigate
and resolve concerns raised by staff, patients, or HQ in a timely and
professional manner.
- Ensure
effective communication channels are maintained between pharmacies and
central support teams.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma
or Degree in Pharmacy or related field.
- At
least 3-5 years of experience in pharmacy operations, ideally with prior
supervisory or management responsibilities.
- Strong
knowledge of pharmacy regulations, pharmacy operations, medical management
and best practices.
- Excellent
leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability
to manage multiple sites and teams effectively.
- Proficient
in MS Office and pharmacy management systems.
