Programme Officer at Biovision Africa Trust (BvAT)
Job Purpose:
The Programme Officer will provide high-level technical and
administrative support to the Head of Programme and Thematic Leads to support
delivery of the BvAT Strategic Plan 2025–2028. The role is central to tracking
the implementation of agroecology (AE) and ecological organic agriculture (EOA)
initiatives across the continent. Key focus areas include coordinating planning
cycles, monitoring performance against strategic indicators, supporting donor
reporting, and facilitating BvAT’s representation in national and continental
stakeholder networks.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Programme planning and implementation support
- Liasing
with with HoP, assist Thematic Leads and Managers in developing detailed
Annual Work Plans (AWP) and budgets aligned with the six Strategic
Objectives of BvAT 2025–2028 Strategic Plan (SP).
- Track
the implementation of project activities to ensure they remain on schedule
and within the approved budget.
- Support
the development of bankable interventions in sustainable agriculture for
smallholder farmers, youth, and women.
- Coordinate
with Country Partners to ensure regional projects (East, West, and
Southern Africa) are harmonized with BvAT’s core mission.
Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning
(MEAL)
- Work
closely with the MEAL Officer to track progress against Key Performance
Indicators (KPIs), such as the number of farmers adopting AE practices or
increases in household income.
- Support
the implementation of the integrated digital MEAL system to facilitate
real-time data collection and adaptive management.
- Assist
in organizing and facilitating Mid-Term Reviews and Final Evaluations to
document cumulative impact and lessons learned.
- Collect
and synthesize data for learning products, including case studies and
success stories, to reinforce trust in AE/EOA as viable solutions.
Representation and stakeholder engagement
- Support
BvAT’s representation in national and continental networks for agroecology
promotion.
- Assist
in convening multi-stakeholder platforms, roundtables, and policy
dialogues to advocate for the mainstreaming of AE/EOA principles in
national budgets and frameworks.
- Maintain
active dialogue with a diverse network of partner institutions, research
centres, and civil society organizations.
Donor reporting and resource mobilization
- Draft
high-quality technical and progress reports for donors ensuring compliance
with specific reporting templates and timelines.
- Support
the Partnerships and Business Development unit in identifying funding
opportunities and drafting technical proposals for new grants.
- Maintain
a repository of project data and evidence-based impact reports to support
the organization’s growth aspirations.
Research and knowledge management
- Support
the Research/KM Manager in synthesizing research findings into farmer-
friendly materials (manuals, infographics, videos).
- Assist
in managing BvAT’s digital knowledge-sharing platforms and ensure they are
accessible to farmers and practitioners.
Working Relationships:

Required Qualifications:
- Master’s
degree in Agriculture Agroecology, Environmental Science, Development
Studies, or a related field.

least 7 years of progressively responsible experience in programme
management within the NGO or development sector.

IT Officer at Biovision Africa Trust (BvAT)
Job Purpose:
The IT Officer will assist in executing IT services in
all BvAT offices, implementing IT management systems and strategies, and
providing daily technical support to users of information management tools and
technology infrastructure.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure effective functioning of BvAT Offices hardware and
software.
- Install,
operate, and maintain all BvAT Office hardware equipment;
- Provide
advice on the acquisition of hardware supplies,
- Make
routine repairs and change of hardware electronic components.

with icipe IT in Installing commercial and in-house developed
software and related upgrades, anti-virus programmes.

providing technical specifications and information on best options in both
local and international markets, review quotations and bids.

Procurement committee.
- Process
IT equipment registration in the ERP Asset Module, support to the physical
inventory verification exercise by checking the accuracy of records and
location of property and prepare inventory reports as required.
- Provide
IT support to BvAT key organized events.
Provide technical support and advice to all BvAT staff.
- Diagnose,
evaluate, and prioritize requests for assistance from staff in both
Nairobi Office and field offices experiencing problems with hardware,
application software, operating systems, networking and other computer
related issues.

Facilitate knowledge building and knowledge sharing

Communications Officer at Biovision Africa Trust (BvAT)
Biovision Africa Trust (BvAT) seeks to recruit a competent
and highly motivated individual as its Communications Officer to
be based in its Head Office in Nairobi.
About Biovision Africa Trust
BvAT, a not-for-profit organization established in Kenya in
2009 is situated in the main campus of the International Centre of Insect
Physiology and Ecology (icipe) in Kasarani, Nairobi. The Trust’s goal is
to alleviate poverty and improve the livelihoods of smallholder farmers in
Kenya and other African countries, through dissemination of information and
knowledge and building capacity of famers for uptake of appropriate technology,
to improve human, animal, plant, and environmental health. BvAT runs a Farmer
Communication Programme in East Africa (Kenya and Tanzania), the African Union

Job Purpose:
The Communications Officer will collaborate closely with the
Executive Director, Head of Programme, Project Managers, Partnership and
Business Development Lead, Field Offices, partners and other colleagues to
ensure communications strategies, media relations and organizational outreach
efforts are aligned with corporate communications policies and initiatives.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the development and implementation of communication
and outreach/advocacy strategies and plans for Biovision Africa Trust.

Objective of the Internship
Under the Agroecology Promotion Programme in Africa ( APP)
and Porticus Project in Kenya, the intern will provide technical support in IT
systems, Microsoft 365, Azure and cloud optimization, email and account
management, website maintenance and updates, and document/visual design within
the organization.
Scope of Work / Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the Head of Programmes ( EOA &

Software and IT Support
