The Opportunity
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Legal and
Tax Semi-Senior to support our advisory team in delivering high-quality tax and
legal services to clients across various sectors. The successful candidate will
be reporting to the Tax Consulting Senior Manager.
Responsibilities
- Keeping
abreast of changes in tax legislation including developments in global and
regional taxation, double tax agreements, transfer pricing and related tax
issues.
- Work
with the Tax Senior and Tax Manager in providing tax opinions to clients
in areas of direct and indirect taxation including but not limited to
income tax, value added tax, customs and excise.
- Support
client engagements on tax planning, due diligence, compliance, and legal
advisory matters.
- Support
tax audits and investigations, and objections and appeals arising
therefrom under the supervision of the Tax Senior or Tax Manager.
- Assisting
in following up with the revenue authority on client issues including
clients’ tax status.
- Supervising
the field team and ensuring that work is carried out in accordance with
the engagement plan.
- Support
the development of tax publications/bulletins/newsletters and organizing
client seminars.
Qualifications and Experience
- A
bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) and Advocate of the High Court of Kenya
- CPA or
a Post Graduate Diploma in Tax is an added advantage
- Minimum
of 3 years experience in law, tax consulting, or a related job
- Strong
understanding of Kenyan tax laws and legal frameworks
- Excellent
written and verbal communication abilities
