Auto-Electrician at Wilderness

PRIMARY PURPOSE

Auto electricians are responsible for installing, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems vehicles, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently.

This position is based in Maasai Mara

Detailed Responsibilities

  • Installation of Electrical Systems: Auto electricians install new wiring systems, electrical components, and accessories in vehicles, including audio systems, navigation units, and lighting systems.
  • Diagnosis and Repair: They diagnose electrical issues using diagnostic tools and software, troubleshoot problems related to wiring, alternators, starters, and other electrical components, and implement effective solutions.
  • Maintenance: Regular maintenance of electrical systems is crucial. Auto electricians ensure that all components are functioning correctly and safely, performing routine inspections and repairs as needed.
  • Testing and Quality Control: They test electrical systems and components to ensure they meet safety and performance standards, using meters and circuit diagrams to identify faults.
  • Customer Interaction: Auto electricians often gather information from customers about electrical issues, explain technical problems, and provide estimates for repairs and services.
  • Safety Compliance: Following safety protocols is essential. Auto electricians must ensure that all work complies with safety standards to protect themselves and vehicle users.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Qualification:

  • Hold a valid Auto-Electrician’s license issued by the appropriate regulatory authority. Demonstrated knowledge of electrical codes and standards.

Experience:                    

  • Minimum of 2 Years of experience working as an Auto-electrician, preferably in a hotel or Lodge set up.
  • Experience working with vehicle air conditioning and refrigeration systems, including installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Familiarity with a variety of Auto-electrical systems, tools, and equipment. Ability to use testing devices and diagnostic tools effectively.
  • Strong commitment to safety practices and protocols. Ability to identify and mitigate potential electrical hazards.
  • Capable of performing Auto-electrical work in various types of vehicles and outdoor environments.

Skills:           

  • Excellent troubleshooting abilities to diagnose and resolve electrical issues efficiently. Resourcefulness in finding solutions to complex problems.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to interact professionally with camp staff and contractors.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work at heights when necessary.

Repairs & Maintenance Supervisor at Wilderness

PRIMARY PURPOSE

The role of a R & M Supervisor is to coordinate the installation, maintenance and repair works in the Camp/property, management of staff in the department, regular inspection of sites, maintain equipment and assign workers to various projects and assignments.


*This position is based in Maasai Mara

Detailed Responsibilities

  • Lead all maintenance processes and operations, plan and manage all repair and installation activities. Document and prepare daily progress reports and maintenance work logs.
  • Ensure compliance with the overall business objectives and growth strategies.
  • Meticulously plan to ensure all services & upgrades are performed with the least disruption to operations.
  • Ensure maintenance works are resolved in time or repaired timely minimizing guest disruption.
  • Assign repair schedules and assist in evaluating repair cost estimates.
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies or urgent maintenance matters as they arise and ensure closure.
  • Assist in managing projects and coordinating contracted works ensuring adherence to the safety measures and deliverables in the SLAs. (Service Level Agreement)
  • Put in place a plan to ensure all rooms/tents repair and maintenance issues are resolved before check -ins and after check-outs in the camps.
  • Manage the process of continual improvements in the set-up of events, and facilities.
  • Implement use of job cards/requisition form for repairs &maintenance works done ensuring they are approved by relevant Supervisors/HODs.
  • Ensure all departmental standards, processes and legislative requirements have been adhered to in maintenance work. e.g., Permits from County Government etc.
  • Ensure the health and safety rules and regulations are always adhered to by the staff, casuals, and contractors.
  • Ensure implementation of OSH and ISO safety recommendations and or SOPs.
  • Establish root cause of emergency maintenance needs and put in place long term mitigation measures.
  • Use performance management techniques to monitor and demonstrate achievement of agreed service levels and to lead on improvement of the same.
  • Ensure quality of products supplied by vendors for the department’s use are of quality and of the expected standards.
  • Set a daily monitoring plan for all water heating systems and water dozing points.
  • Set goals and objectives for staff and support staff development and capacity building efforts.
  • Assist in managing and review employee performance.
  • Deliver training to the staff in the department.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Qualification:

  • Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
  • Level I, II III trade tests.

Experience:                    

  • A minimum of minimum of 3 years’ experience in maintenance operations and supervisory experience in a busy hospitality establishment.

Skills:           

  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral, in English.
