We have an excellent and exciting opportunity in Finance Department for a Tax Accountant, to be based in either Mombasa & Nairobi, Kenya. We seek to give the opportunity to a candidate who ideally holds a professional qualification in Finance / Accounting or its equivalent.

The Incumbent must possess at least 4 years’ experience in Tax Accounting. He/she should have knowledge in Tax Procedures, Auditing, Financial Reporting, Data Analyzing and Cost Controls.

 

Purpose:

The Tax Accountant is responsible for analyzing fiscal matters and preparing, submitting and managing tax statements and returns. The Tax Accountant also looks after providing advice on financial and tax matters, and should have an in-depth knowledge of the regulations, laws and acts that govern this process.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Create and update tax provision schedules, data collection systems, and maintain the corporate tax database.
  • Ensure timely and accurate filing and payment of all relevant taxes.
  • Ensure adherence to Tax Regulations and requirements.
  • Liaise with tax authorities over tax payment matters.
  • Determine tax optimization and recommend strategies to improve cash flow and profits.
  • Evaluate tax regulations and suggest appropriate policies.
  • Keep abreast of all relevant local and international Tax trends and regulations.
  • Provide services and support on business operation matters.
  • Recommend tax advisory and tax strategies that align with business goals.
  • Liaise with various tax authorities, consultants, experts and provide tax related support including training.
  • Advise management on the impact of new laws on tax liabilities.
  • Establish appropriate system or processes for tax risk management.
  • Prepare tax related reports including tax calculations, project tax analysis, estimates/provisions, and forecasts.
  • Any other duty as assigned by management.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting related field.
  • CPA/ACCA/KESRA Training – added advantage.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience as a Tax Accountant/Auditor/Consulting or similar role.
  • Tech savvy.

The systems developer will participate in implementing full lifecycle solutions for modern application and system platforms from requirements analysis, platform selection, technical architecture design, application design and development all the way till testing, and deployment. He/She will collaborate with ICT, supporting ICT activities and digital solutions.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Software Development.

  • Manage software development projects through scoping, requirements gathering, coding, testing, and deployment.
  • Shape and implement technology/business solutions that will make the organizations competitive and differentiated.
  • Planning, scheduling, and executing software development projects.
  • Engaging with Users to understand their needs, providing technical support, and ensuring that software solutions meet user expectations.

  • Attend to systems failures and resolve or coordinate the resolution of the problem.
  • Adhere to change control procedures in implementing solutions.

Other Tasks.

  • Offer basic graphic design support, implementation, templates, and training visuals.
  • Assist in maintaining brand consistency in digital communications.
  • Use tools like Adobe Suite and Canva etc., for light design tasks.
  • Provide tech support for digital platforms used across departments.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in software development is, with proficiency in server-side technologies including Springboot and Apache.

  • Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python, JavaScript).
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).

He/She is to lead and oversee the technical planning, maintenance, and optimization of all company mechanical and operational assets including port equipment (hoppers, grabs, fenders, wheel loaders), pool vehicles, and office machinery. The role ensures maximum asset availability, operational efficiency, and compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Technical Planning & Budgeting:
  • Develop and execute annual technical plans aligned with the company’s strategic objectives and budget.
  • Prepare and manage the technical operational and capital expenditure (CAPEX) budgets.
  • Plan for long-term replacement and upgrading of major assets.
