Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Full-Stack Software Developer
to design, develop, implement, maintain, and continuously improve secure,
scalable and user-friendly software applications that support the
organisation’s business operations and digital transformation objectives. The
role is responsible for translating business requirements into effective
technology solutions, integrating systems and databases, developing APIs and
applications, troubleshooting technical issues and ensuring that software
solutions are reliable, efficient, secure and aligned with industry best
practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop,
maintain, and support software applications in accordance with the
organisation’s approved IT policies, standards, procedures and development
methodologies.
- Ensure
all software development activities follow established change management,
testing, deployment, documentation, and approval procedures.
- Translate
business and operational requirements into functional and technical
software solutions.
- Develop,
test, implement and maintain applications, databases, APIs, integrations,
and automation solutions.
- Ensure
software solutions are secure, reliable, scalable, maintainable and fit
for business purpose.
- Follow
established procedures for source-code management version control,
backups, access control, system security, and data protection.
- Participate
in the analysis, troubleshooting, resolution, and prevention of
application and system-related incidents.
- Maintain
accurate technical documentation, including system specifications,
source-code documentation, database structures, APIs, configurations, and
user guides.
- Ensure
all system changes are properly tested, documented, approved and deployed
in accordance with IT change-management procedures.
- Support
business users during User Acceptance Testing (UAT), system
implementation, training, and post-implementation support.
- Monitor
application performance and identify opportunities for optimisation,
automation, and process improvement.
- Ensure
software development activities comply with applicable company policies,
information-security requirements, data-protection requirements, and
regulatory standards.
- Work
closely with IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, database, ERP, and business
teams to ensure effective system integration and operational continuity.
- Maintain
appropriate controls to protect confidential business information,
customer data, credentials, source code,and system access.
- Follow
established procedures for incident escalation, problem management,
disaster recovery, and business continuity where applicable.
- Evaluate
new technologies, development frameworks, AI tools, and automation
opportunities that can improve operational efficiency.
- Ensure
internally developed applications are properly handed over, supported, and
maintained throughout their lifecycle.
- Contribute
to the continuous review and improvement of IT policies,
software-development standards, operating procedures, and technical
controls.
- Maintain
professional development and stay current with emerging technologies,
software-development practices, cybersecurity requirements, AI, cloud
platforms, and industry standards
Education
- Degree
in Computer Science or any other related field.
Technical Requirements
- Proficiency
in core languages such as Python, JavaScript, Java, C++, C#, or SQL
depending on your focus (e.g., web, mobile, or backend development).
- Understanding
of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming, and the
software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Experience
with source code management tools like Git and GitHub, plus familiarity
with modern AI coding assistants.
