Project Summary
CMMB is implementing a Global Fund supported Tuberculosis
(TB) prevention, care, and treatment project in Machakos, Makueni and Kitui
counties in partnership with the respective County Health Departments. The
project contributes to national TB goals under the TB National Strategic Plan
2023 – 2027, focusing on improving TB case detection, treatment coverage and
success, TB preventive treatment uptake, and integration of TB/HIV and other
co-morbidity services.
The project places strong emphasis on community systems
strengthening, supporting Community Health Promoters (CHPs) and other community
actors to conduct TB screening, contact tracing, treatment adherence support,
community led monitoring (CLM), and demand creation for TB services.
Additionally, it strengthens the health management information system (HMIS) to
generate timely, accurate reporting of community level TB interventions,
contact tracing, and getting treatment interrupters data into the national platforms.
Job Overview
The Project Assistant will support day to day implementation
of community and facility based TB interventions in Machakos and Makueni
County. The role will assist in coordinating project activities, supporting
community health actors, tracking implementation progress, and maintaining
accurate documentation and reporting in line with approved workplans, targets,
and Global Fund requirements.
The position works under the guidance of the Project
Coordinator and Program Manager and collaborates closely with M&E, finance,
county health teams, and community structures.
Key Responsibilities
Program implementation support
- Support
implementation of TB prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and care activities
at community and facility levels, in line with approved workplans and
targets.
- Assist
coordination of community-based TB interventions, including screening,
contact tracing, treatment interruption tracing, TB preventive treatment
(TPT), and differentiated service delivery models.
- Support
implementation of TB/HIV integrated activities, including nutrition
support for TB/HIV co-infected clients and linkage to care.
- Support
community awareness and demand creation activities, including World TB Day
campaigns, school sensitization, mobile population outreach, and community
dialogues.
Community systems strengthening
- Support
and work closely with Community Health Promoters (CHPs), peer monitors,
peer educators and other community actors to ensure effective delivery of
TB services.
- Assist
in coordination of mentorship visits, review meetings, and supportive
supervision activities for community and facility-based implementers.
- Support
implementation of Community led monitoring (CLM) activities, including
data collection, issue tracking, and participation in advocacy forums.
Monitoring, documentation, and reporting
- Maintain
up-to-date activity documentation, beneficiary records, and routine
implementation data in collaboration with the M&E team.
- Support
collection and submission of monthly and quarterly performance data and
activity reports.
- Assist
in documentation of best practices, lessons learned, success stories, and
human-interest stories in line with project learning objectives.
- Support
organization of data review meetings, county review forums, and
stakeholder engagements.
Financial and administrative support
- Support
implementation of project activities in compliance with CMMB financial
policies and Global Fund requirements.
- In
collaboration with finance teams, support processing and liquidation of
activity related payments, stipends, and reimbursements.
- Contribute
to preparation of activity-level budgets and tracking of expenditure
against planned activities.
Partnerships and Coordination
- Support
coordination with County Health Departments, sub-county teams, health
facilities, and community leadership structures.
- Participate
in stakeholder meetings, technical working groups, and advocacy forums
relevant to TB programming at county level.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s
degree in Social Sciences, Community Health, Public Health, or a related
field.
- At
least three (3) years’ experience supporting community health programs
within a public health–focused NGO.
- Experience
working on TB prevention, care, and treatment interventions, including
community-based service delivery.
- Strong
understanding of Kenya’s Community Health Strategy and experience working
with CHPs and community structures.
- Good
organizational and coordination skills with ability to manage multiple
activities simultaneously.
- Strong
computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with
ability to prepare basic reports and summaries.
- Good
verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience

of Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant. The role will support the M&E
Officer in implementing and maintaining effective monitoring, evaluation,
accountability, and learning (MEAL) systems for the project. The position will
contribute to routine data collection, quality assurance, analysis, reporting,
and learning to support evidence-based decision-making and timely donor
reporting.
The M&E Assistant will work closely with project teams
to track progress against approved workplans and targets, support data use for
program improvement, and ensure compliance with Global Fund and government
reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Monitoring, evaluation, and data quality
- Support
the M&E Officer in implementation and day to day functioning of the
project M&E system, tools, and reporting structures.
- Support
routine collection, verification, cleaning, and validation of project
performance data from community and facility levels.
- Conduct
regular field data verification visits to ensure accuracy, completeness,
and consistency of reported data.
- Support
data quality assurance processes, including data audits and follow-up on
identified gaps or discrepancies.
Data analysis, reporting, and learning
- Support
preparation of monthly, quarterly, and semi-annual program reports for
internal use, donors, and government platforms.
- Assist
with data analysis to generate summaries, trends, and insights for program
review and decision making.
- Support
documentation of lessons learned, best practices, and program achievements
to promote learning and adaptation.
- Support
responses to donor and internal data requests, including provision of
supporting documentation during audits.
Capacity building and program support
- Support
project staff and community actors in accurate data collection, reporting,
and use of M&E tools.

in orientation and on-the-job support for project teams on data capture,

in county-level M&E and technical working groups relevant to TB/HIV
programming, as required.
Planning and performance tracking
- Support
tracking of project workplans, activity implementation, and burn rate in

Coordination and teamwork

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s

Project Officer – Migori County at CMMB Kenya
Project Officer

Project Summary
CMMB is implementing a Global Fund supported HIV prevention,
treatment, care, and support program in Migori and Kisumu counties in
partnership with the Kenya Red Cross Society and County Health Departments. The
project contributes to Kenya Vision 2030 and Global Fund GC7 objectives by
reducing new HIV infections, AIDS-related mortality, HIV-related stigma and
discrimination, and preventing vertical transmission of HIV, syphilis, and
hepatitis B.
The program prioritizes vulnerable populations including
fisherfolk communities, pregnant and lactating women living with HIV,
adolescent girls and young women, and survivors of sexual and gender-based
violence, through integrated community and facility based interventions.
Job Overview
The Project Officer will support high quality implementation
of Global Fund HIV interventions at community and facility levels in Migori
County. The role is responsible for coordinating day-to-day project activities,
supervising community level implementers, supporting stakeholder engagement,
and ensuring timely documentation and reporting of results in line with
approved workplans, targets, and donor requirements.
Duties and responsibilities
Specifically, the Project Officer will work closely with the
Project Coordinator, M&E Officer, Program Manager and support services to
perform the following tasks:
Project Implementation and Quality Assurance:
- Coordinate
and support implementation of community and facility based HIV prevention,
care, and treatment activities targeting fisherfolk, PMTCT clients, and
other priority populations.
- Support
delivery of combination prevention interventions, including peer-led
outreach, HTS linkage, PrEP demand creation, eMTCT support groups, and
community dialogues on HIV, GBV, stigma, and human rights.
- Ensure
activities are implemented in line with approved workplans, technical
guidelines, Global Fund standards, and county health priorities.
- Track
implementation progress, identify bottlenecks, and propose practical
solutions to improve coverage, quality, and uptake of services.
Community Systems Strengthening and Supervision
- Supervise,
mentor, and support peer educators, paralegals and other community health
actors to ensure effective service delivery and accountability.
- Support
identification, recruitment, engagement, and retention of project
beneficiaries, including fisherfolk and pregnant and lactating women
living with HIV.
- Promote
an enabling, rights-based environment for people living with HIV, AGYW,
and SGBV survivors through respectful engagement and referral pathways.
Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL)
- Maintain
accurate, up-to-date project documentation, including activity reports,
beneficiary registers, and indicator tracking tools.
- Work
closely with the M&E Officer to collect, validate, and submit monthly
and quarterly performance data.

documentation of best practices, success stories, lessons learned, and
innovations to inform adaptive programming and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s

- Minimum
of four (4) years’ experience implementing community-based health or HIV
programs within a public health focused NGO.
- Demonstrated
experience in HIV prevention, care, and treatment interventions, including
eMTCT and community-based service delivery.
- Strong
understanding of the 95–95–95 HIV cascade and differentiated service
delivery models.
- Proven
experience in community mobilization and working with Community Health
Strategy structures.
- Experience
