The Institution of Surveyors of Kenya (ISK) is a
professional organization bringing together “landed” professionals across eight
major disciplines of the surveying profession, namely: Land Surveying;
Valuation; Building Surveying; Land Administration Management; Engineering

A. Membership Services Intern
The Intern will work directly with the Membership &
Training Manager on matters relating to the Institution’s membership
recruitment and processing.
Duties and Responsibilities
The duties of this position include, but are not limited to,
the following:
- Maintaining
the membership database to ensure all directory information is up to date.
- Conducting
research on middle-level institutions and universities to recruit
potential members.
- Preparing
and presenting membership applications to chapter secretaries.
- Assisting
in the retention process of individual member accounts.
- Responding
to inquiries from prospective members.
- Assisting
the Membership & Training Manager in achieving set ISK work plan
objectives.
- Soliciting
member feedback on satisfaction with services and member benefits.
- Hosting
chapter meetings online and organizing physical meetings as required.
- Creating
and presenting weekly and monthly reports.
- Undertaking
administrative tasks and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Holder
of a relevant degree from a university recognized in Kenya.
- ISK
membership will be an added advantage.
- IT
certification will be an added advantage.

Finance & Administration Officer at Institution of Surveyors of Kenya (ISK)
Position: Finance & Administration Officer
- Location: Nairobi
- Reporting
To: Chief Executive Officer
Role Summary
The Finance & Administration Officer shall manage the
Institution’s financial records, procedures, and general office operations,
ensuring compliance and efficiency. The role covers budgeting, accounting,
payroll support, procurement, asset management, and logistics (travel and
facilities). The position bridges finance, human resources, and operations to
ensure smooth daily functioning and strong strategic financial management.
The Officer will be responsible for driving financial and
administrative processes and generating reliable, transparent, and timely
financial and administrative information required by the (ISK) to
effectively manage its resources.
Specific Responsibilities
- Prepare,
analyze, and monitor financial reports and monthly cash flow forecasts to
support strategic decision-making.
- Assist
in budget preparation, forecasting, and monitoring expenditures to ensure
cost efficiency.
- Ensure
proper financial procedures and systems are operated and maintained in
compliance with institutional policies and accounting standards.
- Oversee
daily financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable,
payroll, and general ledger functions, ensuring timely remittance of
statutory deductions.
- Ensure
timely and accurate examination of all vouchers for approval and confirm
that all payments are within approved work plans and budgets.
- Prepare
and maintain an inventory of institutional assets for accounting and
insurance purposes.
- Ensure
adherence to government laws, donor policies, and internal financial
procedures.
- Direct
and oversee all aspects of administrative support, including office
management and logistics.
- Oversee
procurement functions, including purchasing, supplier databases, and
inventory records.
- Provide
human resource support, including assistance with medical cover and staff
welfare priorities.
- Coordinate
with internal staff, management, external partners, banks, and financial
institutions.
- Maintain
physical and electronic filing systems for all records and manage
libraries at headquarters, ensuring equitable distribution of materials
between headquarters and ISK branch networks.
- Perform
any other lawful duties as may be assigned.

- Advanced
proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Access, and
PowerPoint.
- Membership
to a professional body will be an added advantage.
- Professional
training in human resource and administration will be an added advantage.
- At
least eight (8) years’ experience in accounting and finance, preferably
within non-profit organizations or membership associations.

County Coordinators at Institution of Surveyors of Kenya (ISK)
The Institution of Surveyors of Kenya (ISK) is pleased to
announce the opportunity for interested Members to apply for the position of
ISK County Coordinators in all counties, excluding Nairobi, Nakuru, Mombasa,
and Kisumu. The ISK County Coordinators will serve for a period of 2 years with
the possibility of renewal
The ISK County Coordinators will serve as a key
representative for ISK in their respective Counties, facilitating
communication, membership engagement, and coordination of activities in
conjunction with the Branch Chairs and the ISK CEO. This role is critical in
enhancing the visibility and influence of ISK at the county level, fostering
partnerships with local stakeholders, and supporting the institution’s
strategic goals.
Qualification
For one to be appointed as the ISK County coordinator, the
member:
- Must
be a Full Member or a Graduate Member in cases where there is no Full
Member or a Technician Member where there is no Graduate Member;
- Should
have a Certificate of Good Standing
- Must
be a resident in the County one is applying to be a coordinator;
- Should
have an average of 50 CPD points for the last three years;
- Should
sign a declaration that s/he does not have or is not undergoing any
disciplinary action by ISK, any regulatory boards, or any other
Professional Body;
Functions
The ISK County Coordinators shall:
- Coordinate
activities of ISK at the county in liaison with the relevant Branch Chair
and/or ISK CEO;
- Gather
relevant information and advice the Branch Chair or ISK CEO;
- Represent
ISK at functions within the county in conjunction with the Branch Chair or
ISK CEO;
- Provide
monthly reports of activities undertaken;
- Attend
meetings when called upon by the Branch Chair and/or ISK CEO.
Benefits
The following shall be the benefits of being an ISK County
coordinator
- Earn a
Maximum of 50 CPD points per year as per guidelines issued by the ISK
Council;
- Issued
with a Certificate of Service; and
- Pay
50% of the cost of activities hosted by the relevant ISK Branch.
