The Position
Be part of a combination of sub-communities that comprise
the larger Clinical Operations & Medical Community! You will participate in
or lead Work Product Teams and enable clinical trial delivery in a broad flow
approach with a focus on delivering value for patients, investigators, and the
clinical site as well as be responsible for strategic direction, tactical
implementation and leadership of the Medical Team.
Your Responsibilities
- Provides
subject matter expertise in Clinical Operations by supporting the
execution of clinical trials and projects across various regions,
including Sub-Sahara Africa.
- Contributes
to the success of clinical trials and ensures local medical and scientific
independence while maintaining compliance with Roche’s standards.
- Represents
Roche’s scientific positions to key external stakeholders, forming
strategic partnerships with government entities, media, and other

The Opportunity
Roche in Kenya is seeking a Compliance Associate to join
their team on a 1-year fixed term contract. As a Compliance Associate, you
will provide critical support for the Compliance Lead, ensuring the
organization adheres to all relevant internal policies, industry regulations,
and local laws. This role focuses heavily on Compliance (70%) and Events
Management/Coordination (30%).
The role’s primary compliance focus is actively driving and
facilitating the End-to-End (E2E) Compliance Process Oversight, Improvement,
Monitoring and Execution related to Healthcare Professional (HCP) engagements,
and Patient Partnership for Healthcare Organizations (HCOs) and Patient
Organizations. The Associate will also provide essential support in the
Logistical Coordination and Compliant Execution of stakeholder engagement
events.
The successful candidate will promote a strong culture of compliance and ensure
adherence to Roche Group Compliance standards.
Key Challenges
I. Core Compliance Management (Approx. 70%)
This responsibility focuses on ensuring the legal and
ethical integrity of engagements.
- End-to-End
Engagement Process: Manage HCP/HCO and patient engagement processes,
including Fair Market Value (FMV) calculations, compliant Transfer of
Value (ToV) transfers, purchase order creation, invoice reconciliation,
and timely reporting of Actual Spend.
- Contract
Management: Draft, review, and finalize contracts, ensuring accuracy,
resolving discrepancies, aligning stakeholders, and maintaining secure
storage of executed agreements.
Policy & Advisory Support:
- Serve as a point of contact
for routine compliance inquiries and provide support and guidance to
employees on compliance matters.
- Assist
the Compliance Lead in drafting, reviewing, and updating compliance
policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Support
the communication and dissemination, including training, of compliance
policies to relevant stakeholders.
Monitoring,
Reporting, and Risk:
- Contribute
to the development and execution of compliance monitoring activities,
including data collection and analysis.
- Assist
in preparing regular compliance reports, tracking compliance issues, and
following up on remediation plans.
- Support
the identification, assessment, and mitigation of healthcare compliance
risks and opportunities.
II. Events Management & Coordination (Approx. 30%)
This responsibility focuses on the operational and
logistical execution of compliant events.
- Logistical
Coordination: Coordinate all logistical aspects of events related to
stakeholder engagement, including venue selection, catering, materials
preparation, and travel arrangements.
- Engagement
Oversight: Coordinate stakeholder engagement activities, including
planning meetings, internal and external communications, and reporting on
event status.
- Process
Enhancement: Partner with internal stakeholders to enhance workflows,
address deviations/CAPAs, and improve the external engagement process
across the organization.
- Project
Support: Assist the Compliance Lead in the coordination and execution of
various compliance initiatives and projects, managing administrative tasks
related to compliance activities.
Who You Are as an Ideal Candidate
Essential
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, or any other related field.
- Experience:
2-4 years of experience in a compliance, legal, or audit role. Experience
within pharmaceutical or healthcare is preferred.

The Opportunity
Roche Kenya is seeking a highly motivated and versatile
Supply Chain & SHE Coordinator to join our team. This dual-focus role is
accountable for ensuring the efficient, timely, and compliant execution of our
in-country supply chain while simultaneously implementing and championing a
robust Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) culture.
The ideal candidate will manage end-to-end logistics and
distribution to deliver our innovative medicines to patients and customers,
while also ensuring our operations adhere to all local regulations and Roche’s
global SHE standards. This position is critical for maintaining operational
excellence, ensuring our right-to-operate, and safeguarding our people and
products.
Key Challenges
Supply Chain & Logistics Operations:
- Drive
end-to-end in-country supply chain activities, including Order-to-Cash,
logistics, and distribution to ensure world-class service levels and
timely delivery to customers.
- Monitor
inventory levels against sales forecasts to prevent stockouts and minimize
excess stock, ensuring optimal availability of our medicines.
- Develop
and maintain strong, mutually beneficial relationships with customers,
third-party logistics providers (3PLs), and distributors.
- Track,
analyze, and report on key supply chain performance indicators (KPIs),
identifying opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency
and customer experience.
- Collaborate
closely with Business Development, CRS, and Finance chapters to align
supply chain activities with overall business objectives.
Safety, Health, Environment & Security (SHE)
Management:
- Implement
and maintain SHE policies and management systems to ensure full compliance
with local Kenyan regulations and Roche’s global SHE objectives.
- Conduct
comprehensive risk assessments (including Biosafety), site inspections,
and audits to identify, document, and mitigate potential hazards.
- Lead
incident investigations to determine root causes and implement corrective
actions to prevent recurrence, reporting critical situations to Group SHE
as required.
- Develop
and deliver SHE training to promote a strong safety culture and ensure all
employees and contractors are aware of their responsibilities.
- Manage
emergency preparedness and business continuity plans in collaboration with
regional and group SHE teams.
- Serve
as the primary advisor to management on all SHE, Biosafety, and Security
matters, including physical, personnel, and product security.
Who You Are as an Ideal Candidate
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s
degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Occupational Health &
Safety, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or a related
field.
- Minimum
of 3 years of proven experience in supply chain management and/or
administering SHE programs. Experience in the pharmaceutical, diagnostics,
or a related regulated industry is highly preferred.
- Proficiency
in supply chain software, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, and
SHE management systems.
- Experience
as an auditor and a strong understanding of risk management principles.

Principal Scientist, Human Genetics (African Genomics Program) at Roche Kenya
Key Challenges
- Spearhead
analysis of genetic and genomic data gathered from African and
African-descent populations to uncover novel biology, in close
collaboration with our academic collaborators and with the human genetics
and computational teams within Roche
- Identify
and characterize genetic disease risk, progression, and therapeutic
responses in African- and African-descent populations
- Utilize
large-scale experimental and computational capabilities, including AI/ML,
to place genetic findings in their functional context.
- Implement
research strategies to translate these insights into novel opportunities
for therapy, prevention and diagnosis
- Lead
efforts in target identification, causal inference, biomarker discovery,
and clinical strategies, working closely with our research and clinical
development teams to prioritize and advance targets into therapeutic
development.

years of experience using human genetics to understand diseases, in
academia and/or industry with a focus on association studies in
ancestrally-diverse cohorts

about leveraging emerging African data sets to solve biological questions
