RESEARCH ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER – VACANCY CODE (RA-24) (1 POSITION)
This position reports to the University Registrar for
Research, Innovation, and Community Engagement. This position is offered on a
one-year renewable contract, subject to performance and availability of funds.
Job Summary:
The Research Administrative Officer provides essential
administrative and logistical support to the Registrar Research, Innovation and
Community Engagement, ensuring the efficient operation of the research office.
The role supports the university’s research agenda by coordinating research
activities, managing grants and funded programs, and facilitating stakeholder
engagement. Key responsibilities include overseeing proposal submissions,
supporting project implementation, ensuring compliance with research policies,
and contributing to performance monitoring and reporting in alignment with
donor and institutional objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify
and map funding opportunities from local and international donors.
- Write
and coordinate submission of competitive research and innovation grant
proposals in a timely manner.
- Track
proposal progress and manage submission schedules.
- Supervise
and track implementation of internal and external research projects.
- Maintain
institutional donor and research partner database.
- Manage
communications with funding agencies, partners, and other stakeholders.
- Prepare
reports for internal and external research audits, including donor
feedback loops.
- Serve
as the key administrative support to the Research Registrar, including
managing calendars, travel arrangements, and meeting logistics.
- Coordinate
research meetings, workshops and conferences.
- Assist
in drafting reports, memos, minutes and official correspondence on behalf
of the Research Registrar.
- Maintain
an organized filing system for research records, documentation, and
communications.
- Liaise
with academic departments, administrative units, and external partners on
behalf of the Research Registrar.
- Handle
confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Provide
logistical support for research committee meetings and ensure follow-up on
action items.
Qualifications:
- A
Master’s degree in research administration, Project Management, Social
Sciences, Public Administration, or a related field.
- A
Doctoral degree or professional training in research administration or
policy is an added advantage.
- Minimum
of 3–5 years of relevant administrative or research coordination
experience, preferably in an academic, research institution or a
Non-Governmental Organization.

LECTURER IN THE SCHOOL OF COMPUTING AND EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES (SCET) – VACANCY CODE (LSCET-24) (2 POSITIONS)
Job Purpose
To support the academic growth and delivery of SCET programs
through high-quality teaching, mentoring, curriculum development, and active
participation in departmental research and innovation activities across the
diploma, certificate, and undergraduate levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Teaching
and Learning
- Deliver
courses in areas such as Programming, Networking, Artificial
Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Databases, Software Engineering, and related
computing fields.
- Facilitate
active, participatory, and practical learning across programmes in the
school and university.
- Prepare
course outlines, lecture notes, assessments, and grade submissions in
accordance with university policies.
- Curriculum
Development and Review
- Participate
in ongoing curriculum design and review processes to ensure SCET and
university programs are relevant and responsive to emerging technologies
and industry trends.
- Integrate
hands-on projects and problem-based learning in line with the CBC model
and practical training priorities.
- Research,
Innovation and Mentorship
- Engage
in applied research, publications, and innovation projects aligned with
university and school mandate.
- Supervise
undergraduate student projects and provide academic mentorship to
students.
- Institutional
and Departmental Service
- Contribute
to the planning and execution of university and school activities such as
seminars, hackathons, bootcamps, and outreach programmes.
- Serve
in school or university committees as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements
- PhD in
Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Artificial
Intelligence, or a closely related field from a recognised
university is preferred OR
- A
Master’s degree in the same fields may be considered, provided they
demonstrate substantial teaching experience and ongoing professional
engagement in their discipline.
- Minimum
of three (3) years of university-level teaching experience, including
demonstrable use of Learning Management Systems such as MS Teams, Moodle,
or Google Classroom.
- Evidence
of active research, academic publications, or ongoing doctoral studies
will be an added advantage in line with CUE’s academic staff progression
criteria.
- Strong
industry grounding or professional certifications in one or more of the
following areas will be a distinct advantage: o Programming (e.g., Java,
Python, C#)
- Networking
(e.g., Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Network+) o Cybersecurity (e.g., CEH, CompTIA
Security+)
- Artificial
Intelligence / Machine Learning (e.g., TensorFlow, AWS, IBM, or

DATA ANALYST (6-MONTH CONSULTANCY CONTRACT) – VACANCY CODE (DA24) (1 POSITION)
Job Purpose:
The Data Analyst will be responsible for collecting,
analyzing, interpreting, and presenting data to support evidence-based
decision-making for ongoing programs and research initiatives. The role
involves working with various departments, faculty and students to streamline
data systems, identify trends, and generate actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect,
clean, and validate data from multiple sources.
- Analyze
datasets using statistical and data visualization tools (e.g., Excel,
SPSS, R, Power BI).
- Generate
regular reports, dashboards, and summaries for internal use and
stakeholder dissemination.
- Collaborate
with teams to define data requirements and develop efficient data
collection tools.
- Support
program evaluations by providing timely and accurate data insights.
- Maintain

MONITORING & EVALUATION (M&E) OFFICER (6-MONTH CONSULTANCY CONTRACT) – VACANCY CODE (ME -24) (1 POSITION)
Job Purpose:
The M&E Officer will lead the design, coordination, and
implementation of the monitoring and evaluation framework for programs and
projects. The role ensures that performance data is collected, analyzed, and
used for learning and reporting, and to improve program quality and
effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop
and implement M&E plans, indicators, and frameworks for projects.
- Monitor
project activities and outputs to ensure alignment with goals and
timelines.
- Conduct
data collection, verification, and analysis for reporting and learning.

periodic M&E reports and present findings to stakeholders.

LECTURER – OLD TESTAMENT, BIBLICAL STUDIES – VACANCY CODE (LNEGST24) (2 POSITIONS)
Job Purpose:
The Lecturer in Old Testament Biblical Studies will be
responsible for teaching, research, curriculum development, and academic
mentorship within the School of Theology. The role contributes to the formation
of biblically grounded scholars and leaders through quality instruction,
scholarly engagement, and spiritual mentorship, in line with the university’s
Christian mission and the CUE academic standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching
& Learning o Prepare and deliver instruction in Old
Testament, Biblical Studies, and Biblical languages, at undergraduate and
postgraduate levels. o Develop and update course materials in line with
current biblical scholarship and institutional objectives. o Use
appropriate pedagogical methods, including blended and studentcentered
learning approaches.

students in their relevant studies and fields.

Job Purpose:
The Lecturer in Clinical Psychology will be responsible for
teaching, research, clinical supervision, and curriculum development in the
field of Clinical Psychology. The role aims to equip students with theoretical
knowledge, practical skills, and ethical grounding required to address mental
health challenges in diverse contexts. The lecturer will contribute to the
advancement of the department’s academic and research mission in compliance
with the CUE standards and guidelines.

in Clinical Psychology and related areas.

or eligible for registration with a relevant professional body such as
the Kenya Counselling and Psychological Association (KCPA), Kenya
Psychological Association (KPA), or Clinical Psychologists Association of
Kenya.
- Demonstrated
research and publication record in the field of Clinical Psychology.
- Knowledge
and experience in therapeutic techniques, mental health diagnostics, and
case management.
Key Competencies:

knowledge of clinical theory, assessment, diagnosis, and intervention
strategies.
