The Commission on Administrative Justice (Office of the
Ombudsman) is a Constitutional Commission established under Article 59(4),
Chapter Fifteen of the Constitution and the Commission on Administrative
Justice Act, 2011. The Commission is mandated to address maladministration in
the public sector and oversee the implementation of the Access to Information
Act, 2016.

Duties and Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities for this position will
entail:
- Screening
of complainants
- Assisting
in handling public complaints and provision of legal advice
- Assisting
in conducting legal research on matters relating to administrative justice
and other legal matters
- Compiling
reports and collating data for preparation of briefs
- Any
other duty assigned by the Commission from time to time

INTERNAL AUDIT & RISK INTERN

Duties and responsibilities for this position will
entail:
- Assist
in undertaking audit assignments and preparing detailed audit observations
and reports
- Participating
in carrying out institutional risk evaluation, and efficiency audit
- Assist
in conducting financial and systems audit
- Participating
in developing and updating of internal audit manual;
- Assist
in carrying out audit inspections of CAJ’s records
- Assist
in auditing of systems and processes
- Assist
in carrying out audit checks and identifying any accounting errors
- Assist
in collecting data on periodical financial returns, estimates and
expenditure
- Assist
in examining vouchers, cashbooks, ledgers confirming the propriety and
accuracy of the transactions
- Assist
in Auditing annual accounts

entail:
- Assist
in receiving and Reviewing applications on Access to Information
- Assist
in conducting inquiries into alleged violations of the ATI Act
- Providing
support during ATI hearings
- Assist
in undertaking onsite inspections and relevant information inventories
- Assist
in preparing summons, orders and other legal instruments under ATI Act
- Assist
in undertaking relevant researches aimed at developing repository on ATI
determinations, advisories and case law
- Participating
in development of regulatory framework on ATI Act including relevant
regulations, policies, guidelines, rules, model laws
- Assist
in providing technical support to public entities and private bodies on
implementation of the ATI Act through awareness, sensitization, training
and guidance
- Assist
in receiving and assessing public entities’ reports on ATI implementation
- Participating
in preparation of relevant guidance on ATI including advisories
- Any
other duty assigned by the Commission from time to time
