Job Description
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer will be
responsible for designing, implementing, and strengthening the project’s
monitoring, evaluation, reporting, and learning (MERL) systems. The officer
will ensure high-quality data collection, management, analysis, reporting, and
utilisation to support evidence-based decision-making, adaptive project
management, donor reporting, and carbon project performance monitoring.
Key Experience
- At
least three (3) years of relevant experience in monitoring and evaluation
of donor-funded development or conservation projects.
- Experience
developing logical frameworks, results frameworks and performance
indicators.
- Experience
working with large datasets and conducting quantitative and qualitative
analysis.
- Experience
in environmental conservation, climate change, natural resource
management, pastoral livelihoods or carbon projects is highly desirable.
- Experience
supporting donor reporting and project evaluations.
- Experience
using digital data collection platforms
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants should possess:
- Bachelor’s
degree in Monitoring & Evaluation, Statistics, Economics, Development
Studies, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, Project
Management, or a related field.
- A
Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
- Professional
training in Monitoring & Evaluation will be an added advantage.

Safeguards Manager at Maasai Mara Wildlife Conservancies Association (MMWCA)
Job Description
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Safeguards Manager will lead the design, implementation,
monitoring, and continuous improvement of the organization’s Environmental and
Social Safeguards (ESS) system across conservation and carbon projects. The
role will ensure compliance with applicable national legislation, donor
requirements, carbon certification standards, and organizational safeguard
policies while promoting equitable, inclusive, and sustainable project
outcomes. The Safeguards Manager will work closely with technical teams, project
managers, community engagement staff, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL)
specialists, and external partners to ensure environmental and social risks are
effectively identified, mitigated, monitored, and reported throughout the
project lifecycle.
Key Experience
- At
least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in environmental and
social safeguards, conservation, natural resource management, or climate
change programs.
- Demonstrated
experience supporting conservation and/or nature-based carbon projects.
- Experience
applying international safeguard frameworks and standards, including one
ormore of:
- Verra
VCS and Climate, Community & Biodiversity (CCB) Standards
- World
Bank Environmental and Social Framework (ESF)
- Green
Climate Fund (GCF) Environmental and Social Policy
- Other
recognized environmental and social safeguard frameworks
- Experience
conducting environmental and social impact assessments and developing
mitigation measures.
- Experience
working with government agencies, community institutions, NGOs, and
development partners.
- Experience
facilitating stakeholder engagement, community consultations, and
grievancemanagement.
Knowledge and Skills
The ideal candidate should demonstrate:
- Strong
understanding of biodiversity conservation and landscape restoration.
- Knowledge
of Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities (IPLC) rights and
participatoryconservation approaches.
- Understanding
of Free, Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC) principles.
- Knowledge
of gender equality and social inclusion in conservation programming.
- Excellent
analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong
report writing and communication skills.
- Ability
to manage multiple priorities and work across multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong
facilitation, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proficiency
in Microsoft Office applications and data management tools.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s
degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Natural
ResourceManagement, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related
field.
- Master’s
degree in a relevant discipline is an added advantage

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Accounts Assistant will provide day-to-day accounting
and administrative support to the finance function. The successful candidate
will assist with processing financial transactions, maintaining accounting
records, preparing reconciliations, supporting internal and external financial
audits, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and donor
requirements.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain
accurate financial records and filing systems.
- Process
supplier invoices, payment vouchers, and staff reimbursements.
- Assist
in preparation and processing of payments.
- Perform
bank, cash, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist
in accounts payable and accounts receivable management.
- Record
financial transactions in the accounting system accurately and on time.
- Support
monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes.
- Assist
in budget monitoring and expenditure tracking.
- Prepare
statutory payment schedules and support compliance with tax and other
regulatory requirements.
- Support
internal and external audits by preparing required documentation.
- Ensure
compliance with organizational financial policies, procedures, and donor
regulations.
- Perform
any other finance and administrative duties assigned by the Finance
Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s
degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
- CPA
Part II or equivalent professional accounting qualification; CPA Part III
is an added advantage.
- Minimum
of 2 years’ relevant accounting or finance experience.
- Experience
working with NGOs, conservation organizations, or donor-funded projects is
an advantage.
- Proficiency
in accounting software (e.g., Sage or similar).
- Strong
knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
