Programs & Advocacy Intern at Kenya Healthcare Federation (KHF)
Role Summary
KHF is seeking a dynamic and versatile Intern to support the
Secretariat across a range of functions. This intern role is open to candidates
from diverse professional backgrounds, including healthcare (clinical officers,
doctors, nurses), business (marketing, communications, management), social
sciences, public health, law, and related fields. The ideal candidate is a
self-starter with strong communication skills, an interest in the health
sector, and the ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist
in drafting policy briefs, white papers, position papers, concept notes,
proposals, and other technical documents.
- Support
the planning, logistics, and coordination of KHF meetings, forums,
workshops, and events.
- Attend
meetings and stakeholder engagements, take accurate minutes, and track
action items to completion.
- Assist
in preparing briefing notes, presentations, and talking points for KHF
leadership.
- Help
coordinate multi-stakeholder convenings, including government, development
partners, and private sector actors.
- Manage
correspondence, filing, scheduling, and logistical coordination.
- Support
the preparation and distribution of meeting packs, agendas, and
postmeeting reports.
- Assist
with any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications & Requirements
- We
welcome applications from a range of backgrounds. Suitable candidates may
include:
- Bachelor’s
degree in Commerce (B Com) with a focus in Marketing, Business
Administration, or a related field.
- Medical
degree or clinical training with interest in health systems and policy.
- Degree
in Public Health, Health Management, Social Sciences, Communications, law,
or a related discipline.
In addition, candidates should demonstrate:
- Strong
written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce
wellstructured documents.
- Good
organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle
multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Genuine
interest in Kenya’s health sector, health policy, and private sector
engagement.
- Proficiency
in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- High
level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion.

Pharmacist Intern at Kenya Healthcare Federation (KHF)
Role Summary
KHF is seeking a motivated Pharmacist to join our team as an
Intern. The intern will support KHF’s advocacy efforts on pharmaceutical
pricing, importation, local manufacturing, and supply chain resilience. This is
an excellent opportunity for a pharmacist seeking exposure to health policy,
private-sector advocacy, and healthcare systems strengthening beyond clinical
practice
Key Responsibilities
- Assist
in drafting policy briefs, white papers, position papers, and technical
documents on pharmaceutical and supply chain matters.
- Support
KHF’s engagement with regulatory bodies such as the Pharmacy and
- Poisons
Board (PPB) and other relevant government agencies.
- Contribute
to KHF’s advocacy efforts on pharmaceutical pricing, importation, local
manufacturing, and supply chain resilience.
- Conduct
desk research, literature reviews, and compile data to support
evidencebased advocacy.
- Support
the organization and logistics of sector meetings, forums, and
multistakeholder convenings.
- Attend
meetings, record accurate minutes, and follow up on action points.
- Assist
in preparing presentations, briefing notes, and background documents for
meetings.
- Support
the coordination of internal and external communications.
- Assist
with any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor
of Pharmacy degree from a recognized institution. Must be registered with
the Pharmacy and Poisons Board of Kenya.
- Strong
interest in health policy, pharmaceutical regulation, and supply chain
management.
- Excellent
written and verbal communication skills; ability to draft clear, concise
documents.
- Strong
analytical skills.
- Proficiency
in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- High
level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail.
- Prior
exposure to supply chain, public health, or policy work is an added
advantage.
