Accountant at Institute of Certified Secretaries
Job Description Summary
We are seeking an Accountant to lead the Institute’s
Accounting function. The ideal candidate will oversee the entire accounting
cycle, ensure regulatory compliance, provide strategic financial insights, and
lead the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to
the management and the Council.
Key Result Areas
- Financial
reporting, forecasting, and financial records management.
- Budget
preparation, monitoring, variance analysis, and financial planning.
- Revenue,
receivables, credit control, and cash flow management.
- Financial
accounting systems management and operational efficiency.
- Internal
controls, including accounting, payroll, asset safeguarding, and tax
compliance.
- Financial
analysis, advisory, and decision-support reporting.
- Audit
coordination, regulatory compliance, staff supervision, and continuous
improvement of financial procedures.
Job Specification/Requirements
- Bachelor’s
degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a recognized
university, with a master’s degree as an added advantage.
- Certified
Public Accountant (CPA) and member of ICPAK in good standing.
- Minimum
of three (3) years relevant work experience, preferably in the public
sector or in a professional membership organization.
- Proficiency
in advanced Excel skills and computerized accounting systems (preferably
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central),
- Strong
communication and presentation abilities.

Faith-Based Sector Governance & Leadership Engagement Intern

Title: Faith-Based Sector Governance & Leadership Engagement
Intern
- Duration:
6–12 Months (Project-Based)
Role Purpose
To support the Institute of Certified Secretaries (ICS) in
strengthening governance and leadership capacity within the faith-based sector
through research, stakeholder engagement, development of governance tools,
training support, and taskforce coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Research & Knowledge Support
- Assist
in gathering and analysing governance-related information on faith-based
institutions.
- Support
the development of briefs, case studies, and knowledge materials.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Maintain
databases of churches, denominations, and faith networks.
- Support
communication, scheduling, and documentation of taskforce activities.
Governance Tools Development
- Assist
in drafting sector-specific governance codes, templates, and assessment
tools.
- Support
validation meetings and stakeholder consultations.
Training & Capacity Building
- Prepare
training materials and logistics for clergy and institutional leaders.
- Support
the delivery of workshops and collect participant feedback.
Communication & Administrative Support
- Draft
letters, reports, presentations, and engagement summaries.
- Maintain
organised project files, trackers, and documentation.
Qualifications
- A
Certified Secretary (CS) or an active CS student with strong governance
grounding.
- Preferably
a GEMIP graduate.
- Experience
or involvement with faith-based institutions is strongly preferred.
- Strong
communication, writing, research, and organisational skills.
- High
integrity, professionalism, and ability to work independently.
