Senior Information Communication Technology Assistant (System Development at Kenya Development Corporation

Job Specification

Duties and responsibilities

  • Developing documentation of business systems according to user requirements and specifications;
  • Installing and configuring business systems and solutions;
  • Support automation of manual business processes;
  • Maintaining application systems by identifying and fixing software bugs;
  • Providing end user support and training users on effective and efficient use of ICT facilities;
  • Installing, configuring and monitoring Local Area Network components;
  • Administering and managing users in the Active Directory, e-mail server and User applications;
  • Maintaining an up-to-date ICT equipment register and issuance register;
  • Updating and maintaining the KDC website; and
  • Ensuring Business continuity by performing regular data and application backups.
  • Design, customize and maintain Microsoft Dynamics Navision while providing technical support and optimizing system performance;
  • Monitoring the use of ICT hardware and reporting any faults for further action.

Person Specification

For appointment to this grade an officer must have at least: –

  • Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Communication Technology, Software Engineering, Business IT or equivalent from a recognized institution.
  • Cumulative service period of five (5) years relevant work experience, three (3) of which should be at the grade of Senior ICT Assistant or in comparable position
  • Supervisory skills course lasting not less than two (2) weeks from a recognized institution
  • Certification in Microsoft Dynamics Nav/Business Central
  • At least any one (1) certifications from relevant professional bodies in either Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP), CISA, CISM, CGEIT or other equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.
  • Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results
  • Membership to an equivalent ICT professional body.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Ensuring security of office equipment, documents and records;
  • Recording dictation in shorthand and transcribing in typewritten form; processing data and managing e-office;
  • Planning and organizing meetings, workshop/conferences and seminars; operating office equipment;
  • Responding to correspondences; attending to visitors/clients; handling telephone calls, enquiries and appointments;
  • Handling protocols and confirming travel itineraries; and managing office petty cash.
  • Guiding and supervising lower secretarial personnel.

Person Specifications

For appointment to this grade a candidate must have at least: –

  • Diploma in Secretarial Studies, Office Management, Business Administration or any other relevant field from a recognized institution;
  • Cumulative service period of six (6) years relevant work experience, three (3) years of which should have been at the grade of Assistant Office Administrator or in a comparable and relevant position;
  • Been registered to a relevant professional body and in good standing;
  • Proficiency in computer applications; and
  • Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
