DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Define
and execute a focused retail strategy covering target customer segments,
products, channels, and distribution models within approved risk appetite.
- Provide
strategic leadership and oversight of the branch network to drive growth
in deposits, quality lending, customer acquisition, and transaction
volumes.
- Drive
Retail Banking financial performance through growth in profitability,
deposits, lending, and operational efficiency in line with business
targets.
- Meet
agreed individual performance targets and ensure achievement of Retail
Banking business objectives in line with the Bank’s performance management
framework.
- Ensure
disciplined retail lending growth and full accountability for portfolio
quality, including reduction of NPLs, recoveries, restructures, and
portfolio remediation.
- Strengthen
credit underwriting standards, portfolio monitoring, early warning
systems, and risk controls to prevent recurrence of legacy asset quality
issues.
- Set
and enforce clear performance standards for Branch Managers and Retail
teams covering sales, service delivery, compliance, productivity, and risk
management.
- Drive
operational efficiency, process automation, channel migration, and cost
optimization initiatives to improve productivity and reduce cost-to-serve.
- Ensure
full compliance with CBK regulations, internal policies, audit
requirements, and governance standards across the Retail Banking function.
- Lead,
motivate, and develop Retail Banking teams by fostering a
high-performance, accountable, customer-centric, and risk-aware culture.
- Identify
growth opportunities and work with the marketing and product development
team to design, price and launch tailored products/services for retail and
high-value customers; and monitor their performance.
- Work
with branch managers to strategize and ensure turnaround of
loss-making branches.
- Any
other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s
degree in business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Master’s
degree (MBA or equivalent) and/or professional qualifications are an added
advantage.

Credit Recovery Officers at Credit Bank
Credit Bank Limited, a well-established commercial bank, has
embarked on a robust growth strategy and is looking for a dynamic, highly
creative and technology savvy proactive Kenyan professional with strong
credentials and relevant work experience to fill the below vacancy who will be
stationed at our Head office.
The incumbent(s) will be responsible for routine calling and
engaging of customers who fall into arrears, tracking of clients’ comments and
commitments made to regularize their loan accounts and recover money through
funds transfer to respective settlement accounts that have fallen due to
achieve zero migration of their portfolio to NPL. Execute loan recovery
activities within assigned business offices / portfolios and ensure that the
advised recovery target is achieved
Duties and Responsibilities
- Actively
monitor the performance of loans and recommend proactive measures based on
observations to reduce the likelihood of loans transitioning from
performing to non-performing status.
- Management,
collection, and recovery of outstanding amounts under assigned portfolio
with a view of reducing the allocated written off book as per communicated
targets.
- Ensure
the written-off portfolio is tracked and recovered as per the bank’s
objectives.
- Daily
telephone calls and client visits (on a need basis) to follow up on
payments.
- Demand
and enforce repayment of the assigned portfolio and achieve set targets.
- Negotiating
with clients and coming up with suitable exit strategies of the allocated
book.
- Ensure
a record is maintained with track of all the recovery progress for all
loans in NPL and there is ease of access to recovery documentation.
- Prepare
and present reports on recovery performance and strategies to senior
management.
- Ensure
100% utilization of the collections system as well as other systems that
may be implemented to aid recoveries in the bank Report and monitor all
risks associated with debt recovery.
- Collaborate
with legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to relevant laws and
regulations during the recovery process.
- Maintain
strong relationships with external partners, including collection agencies
and legal advisors.

and enhance recovery processes, ensuring best practices and continuous

Business Development Officer, Bancassurance at Credit Bank
The role holder will be responsible for driving the
implementation of the bancassurance sales strategy, grow revenue, and ensure
high customer satisfaction and retention through effective relationship
management, cross-selling, and operational excellence.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Identify
and exploit cross-selling opportunities to increase Bancassurance revenue.
- Build
and maintain strong customer relationships to ensure renewals and
referrals.
- Onboard
non-bank clients and ensure financed clients’ assets are insured.
- Collaborate
with branches and credit teams to expand insurance product distribution.
- Maintain
at least 85% policy renewal retention and grow a clean IPF book.
- Track,

Relationship Officer, Retail Banking at Credit Bank
To grow the Branch business in terms of the loan book,
liabilities, customer base and income from the bank’s target markets. Provide
effective account relationship management resulting in optimization of customer
satisfaction, retention and wallet share through selling multiple solutions
from the entire bank’s product range.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage
and grow branch customer relationships and account portfolios, focusing on
customer retention, business growth, and overall account performance.

Credit Securities & Documentation at Credit Bank
The jobholder is responsible for supporting the maintenance
of a quality lending portfolio in respect to loan and advances contracting,
loan disbursements, risk monitoring and control of the risk asset book. He/she
also handles disbursement of credit facilities and maintenance of overdraft
limits in the core-banking system while ensuring absolute data integrity since
the data captured form strong basis for portfolio and financial performance
analyses. In addition, they handle loan repayment requests, rescheduling and
other credit related processes and queries.
Duties and Responsibilities
Documentation
- Review
loan documents and liaise with internal and external parties to ensure
proper and efficient delivery of credit administration duties.
- Ensuring
that all conditions precedent for credit facilities are in place and the
necessary deferrals/waivers sought from Management Credit Committee, prior
to signing off for disbursement of all credit facilities.
- Ensuring
post disbursement compliance with approved terms and conditions,
assignment of rights, review expiry of credits, progress payment insurance
etc.
- Prepare
Letters of Offers and any other letters prior to issuance to the
clients/BM/RM.
- Follow
up with Business Units and branches to ensure that all requirements
advised in offer letters and credit applications approvals are satisfied.
- Monitor
all irregularities, past dues, documentation deficiencies, etc., and
report to Executive Management/Management Credit committee
- Support
in ensuring that all credit files have been well segregated into their
various compartments and filed alpha numerically.
Securities
- Support
the maintenance of the Master folder for all securities held by the Bank.
- Facilitate
update of the securities register/security release register.
- Ensure
that there is a robust process for safe custody and ensure dual control in
the access for securities.
- Follow
up logbooks forwarded to NTSA for joint registration, registration of
MPSR, charges and debentures.
- Ensure
that liens are placed on all deposits held as security, control the
recording, deposit and withdrawal of the security documentation properly
- Responsible
for collateral valuation, collateral monitoring and collateral
reconciliation with original documents.
Loan Processing
- Initiate
all core banking systems (Finacle) data on (loan disbursements, overdraft
and non-funded facilities marking and static data amendments) in
conformance approval terms and within the provided Turn Around Time (TAT).
- Check
data entry in T24 to ensure that data held within MIS for respective
portfolios is correct i.e. interest rates, amounts, tenure, maturities,
accruals etc.
- Ensure
all disbursement checklists/requests are properly signed off prior to
booking in the Core Banking system.
- Ensures
100% collection of income streams and accurate collection facility fees,
commissions and other charges as per approval as contained in the Letters
of Offer.
Reporting
- Timely
Preparation & submission of accurate Credit related CBK statutory
reports/returns.
- Prepare
and provide information to assist in the preparation of monthly/quarterly
reports to CBK.
- Assist
in conducting monthly & quarterly portfolio reviews and preparation of
management reports.
Minimum qualification and experience required
- A
Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance or any other
relevant business-related program
- At
least 5 years’ Banking experience with at least 3 years’ experience in
Credit Administration
- Professional
qualification in Credit will be an added advantage

The role holder is responsible for ensuring compliance with
internal credit policies and procedures and facilitating management of
credit risk in line with CBK prudential guidelines.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensuring
compliance with all internal and regulatory credit/other portfolio related
policies.
- Ensure
high turnaround time (TAT) for Credit proposals.
- Ensure
that all appraisal decisions meet the agreed Service Level Agreement.
- Co-ordinate
efforts together with Internal Audit and Branches to ensure adherence to
the Credit Policy and lending guidelines
- Review
loan security margins as per the existing market trends and advise the
management on any necessary reviews.
- Reviewing
and making recommendations relating to all new loan facilities.
- Ensuring
proper reporting, documentation and review to determine that lending to
the respective segments is within acceptable risk.
- Management
of credit risks through analysis and recommendation of approvals for
facilities within the Institutions tolerable risk levels
- Carry
out other assigned tasks by the Chief Credit Officer
