Credit Securities & Documentation at Credit Bank
The jobholder is responsible for supporting the maintenance
of a quality lending portfolio in respect to loan and advances contracting,
loan disbursements, risk monitoring and control of the risk asset book. He/she
also handles disbursement of credit facilities and maintenance of overdraft
limits in the core-banking system while ensuring absolute data integrity since
the data captured form strong basis for portfolio and financial performance
analyses. In addition, they handle loan repayment requests, rescheduling and
other credit related processes and queries.
Duties and Responsibilities
Documentation
- Review
loan documents and liaise with internal and external parties to ensure
proper and efficient delivery of credit administration duties.
- Ensuring
that all conditions precedent for credit facilities are in place and the
necessary deferrals/waivers sought from Management Credit Committee, prior
to signing off for disbursement of all credit facilities.
- Ensuring
post disbursement compliance with approved terms and conditions,
assignment of rights, review expiry of credits, progress payment insurance
etc.
- Prepare
Letters of Offers and any other letters prior to issuance to the
clients/BM/RM.
- Follow
up with Business Units and branches to ensure that all requirements
advised in offer letters and credit applications approvals are satisfied.
- Monitor
all irregularities, past dues, documentation deficiencies, etc., and
report to Executive Management/Management Credit committee
- Support
in ensuring that all credit files have been well segregated into their
various compartments and filed alpha numerically.
Securities
- Support
the maintenance of the Master folder for all securities held by the Bank.
- Facilitate
update of the securities register/security release register.
- Ensure
that there is a robust process for safe custody and ensure dual control in
the access for securities.
- Follow
up logbooks forwarded to NTSA for joint registration, registration of
MPSR, charges and debentures.
- Ensure
that liens are placed on all deposits held as security, control the
recording, deposit and withdrawal of the security documentation properly
- Responsible
for collateral valuation, collateral monitoring and collateral
reconciliation with original documents.
Loan Processing
- Initiate
all core banking systems (Finacle) data on (loan disbursements, overdraft
and non-funded facilities marking and static data amendments) in
conformance approval terms and within the provided Turn Around Time (TAT).
- Check
data entry in T24 to ensure that data held within MIS for respective
portfolios is correct i.e. interest rates, amounts, tenure, maturities,
accruals etc.
- Ensure
all disbursement checklists/requests are properly signed off prior to
booking in the Core Banking system.
- Ensures
100% collection of income streams and accurate collection facility fees,
commissions and other charges as per approval as contained in the Letters
of Offer.
Reporting
- Timely
Preparation & submission of accurate Credit related CBK statutory
reports/returns.
- Prepare
and provide information to assist in the preparation of monthly/quarterly
reports to CBK.
- Assist
in conducting monthly & quarterly portfolio reviews and preparation of
management reports.
Minimum qualification and experience required
- A
Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance or any other
relevant business-related program
- At
least 5 years’ Banking experience with at least 3 years’ experience in
Credit Administration
- Professional
qualification in Credit will be an added advantage
Key Competencies
- Substantial
knowledge of credit and risk analysis.
- In-depth
industry and product knowledge
- Computer
literacy with good understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel and other
relevant applications.
- Good
knowledge of regulatory policies and guidelines
- Knowledge
of the Kenyan economy and market dynamics

Credit Analyst at Credit Bank
The role holder is responsible for ensuring compliance with
internal credit policies and procedures and facilitating management of
credit risk in line with CBK prudential guidelines.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensuring
compliance with all internal and regulatory credit/other portfolio related
policies.
- Ensure
high turnaround time (TAT) for Credit proposals.
- Ensure
that all appraisal decisions meet the agreed Service Level Agreement.
- Co-ordinate
efforts together with Internal Audit and Branches to ensure adherence to
the Credit Policy and lending guidelines
- Review
loan security margins as per the existing market trends and advise the
management on any necessary reviews.
- Reviewing
and making recommendations relating to all new loan facilities.
- Ensuring
proper reporting, documentation and review to determine that lending to
the respective segments is within acceptable risk.
- Management
of credit risks through analysis and recommendation of approvals for
facilities within the Institutions tolerable risk levels
- Carry
out other assigned tasks by the Chief Credit Officer
Minimum qualification and experience required
- A
Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance or any
other relevant business-related degree.
- Minimum
of 5 years’ banking experience with at least 3 years’ experience in Credit
Analysis.
- Professional
qualification in Credit will be an added advantage.
