Sales
Our Sales teams help to deliver Reckitt’s purpose by
building shared success with our customers, making access to the highest
quality hygiene, wellness, and nourishment possible in-stores and online.
Within Sales, we’re focused on achieving outperformance across all of our
channels, operating in highly competitive categories. This focus results in a
dynamic, fast paced environment where cross functional teams are encouraged to
collaborate to achieve success. We have around 10,000 sales people across the
world, within market roles and ranging in areas like Field Sales, Key Accounts,
Trade Marketing and Category Development.
About the role
Embark on a dynamic sales journey with Reckitt as a Business
Development Manager. The Business Development Manager is responsible for
delivering sales and shipment targets, coverage and in – store presence
(Distribution, Shelving, Pricing and Merchandising) across channels in the
locations. The role is also responsible for bringing all Reckitt’s trade
initiatives to the live locations.
Your responsibilities
- Responsible
for ensuring key performance indicators (Sales, shipments, ECOs, MSL etc)
are met in the assigned territory.
- Collaborates
with distributors (DB) and Reckitt HQ team to deliver expectations and
innovations.
- Evaluate
at regular intervals, the service rendered, coverage and distributors and
super stockists and take corrective actions if and is required to ensure
the business is healthy.
- Monitor
constantly Distributor stock, sales, and trade receivables of distributors
and super stockists and take corrective actions if and as required, to
ensure the business is healthy.
- Responsible
for identifying and developing new business opportunities. This involves
analysing hard data and extensive field visit.
- Ensure
proper planning of area coverage plans and the implementation of
systematic coverage of the territory and evaluate and modify the same at
regular intervals.
- Responsible
monitoring and reporting competitive activities happening within his
locations in line with Reckitt’s policies and also access the activities’
possible impact on our business.
- Forecast
brand wise / SKU wise sales within accuracy norms a month on month to
ensure optimum stocks at the DB locations.
- Responsible
for training his location(s) Distributor’s Sales Teams on all sales
fundamentals and requisite selling skills needed to win in trade.
- Responsible
for ensuring the veracity of all data shared by the Distributors with
Reckitt for his location(s).
- Responsible
for ensuring proper verification of claims as per Reckitt’s policies.
- Develop
a growth strategy focused both on financial gain and customer satisfaction
- Conduct
research to identify new markets and customer needs
- Develop
and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
- Collaborate
with sales and marketing teams to develop and implement strategic sales
plans.
- Work
closely with the business head, supply chain and the distributor teams to
create processes between Reckitt and the distributors that are simple,
robust and efficient facilitating unrestricted flow of necessary
information on ordering, shipments and sales.
The experience we’re looking for
- Good
overall understanding of sales and distribution
- Relevant
experience in FMCG, preferably in international markets
- Should
have proven track record of building business in new territories
- Customer-

in MS Office and SAP

- Minimum
of BSc. or HND in relevant fields.

work experience as a business development manager, sales executive or a

Your responsibilities
- Craft
and implement the Logistics strategy, setting the direction for the team
with clarity and vision.
- Foster
strong supply chain relationships with cross-functional teams and lead the
collaboration with 3PL partners to maintain efficient daily operations.
- Take
complete ownership of relationships with key logistics partners including
3PLs, CMOs, and other vendors.
- Drive
continuous improvement, identifying and enacting efficiencies within
system and process optimisation.
- Tackle
stock discrepancies head-on, collaborating with external and internal
warehouse teams to ensure robust processes.
- SLA
setup with all service providers and KPI’s managed within terms of the
agreement. KPIs to be in place for all transporters, clearing agents etc,
reviewed and published every month.
- Vehicle
Utilization for outbound deliveries, container utilization for imports.
- Manage
product life cycle and ensure no write offs.
- Maintain
KEBS, PPB, PCPB & other regulatory key documentations for East Africa
- Collaborate
with external stakeholders – Factories, Freight forwarders/Agents,
Regulatory bodies, Bank, Shipping lines, etc as the need arises to ensure
smooth export processing.
- Costs
within budget – Optimal freight in cost management
- Ensure
monthly account are managed and paid within agreed timelines.
KPI: No outstanding payments to suppliers; measure on monthly basis
and transparently
- Ensure
all Tariff and duties are correctly classified and paid accordingly.
- Clear
trackers and KPIs in place for all FO, FI and WH activities. All properly
managed and controlled with clear actions to meet business
expectations.
- Ensure
no non-conformance incidents on all service providers/ suppliers.
- All
audit compliance in Logistics space are met, ensure all SOPs, work
instructions are in place and reviewed regularly and strictly adhered to.
- Succession
planning and development plans for all subordinates. Regular PDRs
discussions completed and captured.
The experience we’re looking for
- Demonstrable
experience in warehouse operations with strong business acumen and a
capacity for blending commercial and technical responsibilities.
- High
proficiency in continuous improvement processes, financial management, and
driving service KPIs.
- Solid
track record of collaboration with supply community, business units, and
external partners to deliver service excellence.
- Ability
to effectively communicate at all levels with internal & external
stakeholders and suppliers.
- Advanced
in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Must
be highly analytical.
- High
attention to detail
- Excellent
Communication skills.
- A
bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration,
logistics or any other business-related field.
- A
minimum of 5 years’ experience in Warehousing and freight management
preferably in FMCG, Logistics companies and experience in managing 3P.
