Access Implementation Lead at Pfizer
ROLE SUMMARY
The Accord for a Healthier World –Access Implementation Lead
(AIL) takes a holistic view of partnership with the prioritized healthcare
institutions/systems in Accord countries, with the goal of maximizing the
success and measurable impact of the implementation of the Accord initiative.
The role focuses on collaborating with healthcare
institutions in Accord countries that joined the Accord, to ensure Accord
implementation at institution level, including initiatives that will meet the
healthcare needs of the patients and enabling the availability of Pfizer
medicines and vaccines through the existing Accord agreement.
The Accord SHP’s mindset is driven by patient impact,
customer-centricity and collaboration with external key stakeholders and
internal subject matter experts.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Key Healthcare Institutions / systems engagement
- Accountable
for Key Healthcare Institutions/systems engagement and collaboration
- Identify
key Customers, incl. decision making / influencing network. Understand Key
institutions’ needs, challenges, and priorities.
- Drives
engagement to ensure appropriate awareness about the Accord for a
Healthier World value proposition and offering and how they address
facilities unmet needs
- Leads
the long-term, consultative, senior level institution/system relationship
to become the trusted business advisor.
Accord facility level implementation
- Responsible
for aligning with facilities leadership on unmet needs including health
system strengthening solutions, HCP education and access/supply demand
plans
- By
partnering with needed Pfizer cross-functional teams and internal subject
matter experts, leads the development of a holistic plan for the
institution and the co-creation of innovative solutions to meet the key
institutions’ healthcare priorities in those areas of joint interest
supporting a legitimate unmet patient need and tangible patient outcomes.
- Leads
onboarding of new healthcare facilities to the Accord program as aligned
with MoH and other government stakeholders
- Support
the product supply process/availability of medicines per the existing
Accord agreement by ensuring robust facilities team training on portfolio,
demand planning at facility level and ensuring those needs are integrated
in the overall Accord national/Regional plans
Insights & improvement
- Conduct
or support environmental scans to better understand the current landscape,
unmet needs to support evolving the solutions offered to the facilities
through Accord initiative.
- Work
with key institutions stakeholders and Pfizer SMEs to help identify and
quantify institution needs to best incorporate into the national
implementation plans, including areas related to healthcare system
strengthening and product supply
- Work
with key stakeholders and internal subject matter experts on quality
improvement Initiatives to enhance patient care optimization at a
facility, regional, provincial and national levels
KPIs
- Development/Fulfillment
of strategic and operational plans for the prioritized healthcare
institutions/systems.
- Successful
delivery of in scope Accord healthcare strengthening solutions and
enablement of product access & supply plans and associated patient
impact
- Achievement
of facility level implementation and impact metrics in alignment with the
broader Accord measurement framework
Skills & Competencies
1. Strategic Relationship Management
- Proven
ability to build and maintain long-term, trust-based relationships with
senior stakeholders in healthcare institutions.
- Skilled
in stakeholder mapping and engagement planning.
2. Healthcare System Knowledge
- Strong
understanding of healthcare delivery models, institutional decision-making
processes, and system-level challenges.
- Familiarity
with health system strengthening approaches and public health priorities.
3. Program Implementation & Coordination
- Experience
leading multi-stakeholder program rollouts, ideally in healthcare or
public health settings.
- Ability
to coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver tailored solutions at the
facility level.
4. Consultative & Solution-Oriented Thinking
- Ability
to identify unmet needs and co-create innovative, sustainable solutions
with internal and external partners.
- Skilled
in translating strategic goals into actionable plans.
5. Data-Driven Insights & Continuous Improvement
- Experience
conducting environmental scans, needs assessments, and using data to
inform strategy.
- Familiarity
with quality improvement methodologies and impact measurement frameworks.
6. Communication & Influence
- Strong
verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable
presenting complex ideas to senior leaders and external partners.
Relevant Experience
1. Healthcare or Life Sciences Background
- 5–8
years of experience in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, public health, or
related fields.
- Experience
working with Ministries of Health, NGOs, or healthcare institutions is a
plus.
2. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Demonstrated
success in working across departments such as medical affairs, supply
chain, access, …
3. Project or Program Management
- Experience
managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders and measurable
outcomes.
- Familiarity
with tools like project charters, implementation roadmaps, and KPIs.
4. Global Health or Access Programs (Preferred)
- Exposure
to global health initiatives or access programs (e.g., Accord for a
Healthier World, GAVI, WHO collaborations).
