Technical Officer Regenerative Agricultuture (Productive Use of Renewable Energy) at Kenya Renewable Energy Association (KEREA)
Overview:
- The
Technical Officer RA/PURE will contribute to KEREA’s objectives in
agriculture and energy systems strengthening. Operating primarily in rural
or peri-urban areas, this role focuses on effective project delivery,
stakeholder engagement, and ensuring quality outcomes aligned with KEREA’s
standards. The position requires a proactive approach to training,
community engagement, and data management.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate
project implementation at the field level through training and workshops.
- Build
local partner and stakeholder engagement with community groups and
government actors.
- Assist
in forming village savings groups or cooperative structures as per project
focus.
- Provide
technical guidance on agronomic practices and renewable energy usage.
- Collect,
verify, and enter field-level data into monitoring systems for adaptive
management.
- Draft
progress reports with qualitative observations from field activities.
- Coordinate
farmer field schools and market linkages as required.
- Perform
administrative tasks related to budgeting and logistics coordination.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s
degree in agriculture, agribusiness, rural development or related field;
master’s is a plus.
- 3–5
years of relevant experience in service delivery within agriculture or
energy sectors.
- Strong
skills in stakeholder engagement with government and community leaders.
- Technical
skills in training and mentorship, with experience in value-chain
promotion preferred.
- Proficiency
in mobile-based data collection tools; excellent MS Office skills.
