Job Purpose:
- To
assist in various production processes including fish processing,
inventory updates, sanitation, dispatch preparation, and cold room
management while ensuring safety, hygiene, and quality standards are
consistently met.
Key Responsibilities:
Processing Support:
- Supervise
and guide casual staff on hygiene, disease control, PPE usage, and work
speed.
- Assist
in cleaning, gutting, scaling, filleting, and packaging fish products.
- Operate
fish processing machinery following safety guidelines.
- Ensure
processed products meet quality standards before packaging.
- Utilize
water efficiently during processing activities.
- Prepare
pre-processing schedules and submit production/post-production reports.
Dispatch Support:
- Verify
orders before dispatch and update daily records.
- Package
orders accurately and arrange them for pickup.
- Pull
orders efficiently and maintain dispatch organization.
- Inspect
unit cleanliness and record truck temperatures prior to dispatch.
Quality Control:
- Inspect
fish for spoilage or defects during processing.
- Maintain
high hygiene standards throughout production.
- Promptly
report equipment or quality issues.
Inventory Management:
- Assist
in inventory management of raw and finished products.
- Record
cleaning material usage using bin cards and monitor inventory levels.
- Record
production outputs accurately.
- Help
in loading/unloading stock and palletizing fish in the coldroom.
- Participate
in weekly physical stock takes.
Facility Management:
- Maintain
internal and external GMP standards.
- Ensure
facility cleanliness and functional layout.
- Manage
facility assets: solar drier, pumps, stainless steel tables, forklifts,
tanks, etc.
Safety and Sanitation:
- Ensure
the workspace is clean and follows hygiene and waste protocols.
- Adhere
to all health and safety guidelines.
- Administer
basic first aid to staff when required.
- Participate
in regular equipment and surface sanitation.
Team Collaboration:
- Work
as part of the team to meet weekly processing targets.
- Communicate

Compliance:

coldroom products are well palletized and traceable.
Quality Assurance Associate (Fish) – Nairobi at Keep IT Cool
Experience: Minimum 2 years in fish processing or seafood QA
roles
Reports to: Quality Assurance Manager
Job Purpose:
- To
ensure the quality and safety of fish products by enforcing stringent
quality control standards throughout the processing, storage, and
distribution stages. This role also includes oversight of cleaning hubs,
cold room management, customer complaint handling, documentation, and
compliance with national and international food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance & Quality Control (QA/QC):
- Oversee
and implement quality control measures across all fish processing stages.
- Conduct
routine and random inspections in cleaning, cold storage, packaging,
dispatch, and order fulfillment.
- Ensure
compliance with GMP, HACCP, and internal QA protocols.
- Develop,
implement, and follow up on Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs).
Cleaning Hub Management:
- Supervise
cleaning teams and ensure sanitation of all processing zones.
- Implement
cleaning SOPs, sanitation schedules, and chemical usage protocols.
- Ensure
daily manual drainage and proper documentation.
- Plan
and report on general cleaning schedules across all hubs.
Processing Plant & Cold Room Oversight:
- Supervise
daily processing activities ensuring hygiene and temperature control.
- Monitor
and log cold room temperatures; coordinate equipment audits and
maintenance.
- Lead
training for casual workers on hygiene, PPE, and quality.
- Maintain
palletization and proper product storage.
- Conduct
daily audits and report on NE items and spoiled stock.

Dispatch and Returns Management:
- Supervise
finished goods dispatch ensuring traceability, accuracy, and handling

- Analyze
returns and customer complaints, documenting root causes and recommending

on all nonconformance issues and ensure corrective measures.
Perishable Goods in Transit Management:
- Oversee
quality control during transit, including use of temperature loggers.
- Ensure
shelf-life tracking and proper handling during transportation.
- Ensure
completion of organoleptic forms before truck departure.
Order Verification and Fulfilment:
- Verify
customer orders for accuracy and quality compliance.
- Approve
all outgoing stock only after final QA checks.
- Ensure
proper packaging based on client-specific requirements.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain
QA records: inspection logs, batch records, organoleptic tests, NE
tracking, and compliance documents.
- Present
trend analysis and quality improvement reports.
- Collaborate
with the stock team to ensure only quality-approved items are recorded.
Stock and Inventory Management:
- Partner
with inventory to assess product quality during storage.
- Monitor
product rotation (FIFO/FEFO), expiry, and write-offs.
- Participate
in stock takes and conduct weekly coldroom audits.
- Report
on product ageing and recommend actions.
Customer Complaint Handling:
- Lead
investigations into quality-related issues.
- Track
recurring complaints, recommend improvements, and ensure resolution
feedback loops.
OSHA & Food Safety Compliance:
- Train
staff on occupational and food safety protocols.
- Ensure
all incidents are reported and followed up promptly.
- Maintain
facility compliance with OSHA and food safety legislation.
Continuous Improvement & CAPA Implementation:
- Identify
improvement areas in QA operations.
- Lead
Lean, Kaizen, or Six Sigma projects related to quality.
- Implement
company-wide QA training and standards.
Product Loss and Waste Management:
- Analyze
losses due to spoilage, contamination, or handling errors.
- Recommend
and implement mitigation strategies.
Regulatory Compliance and Audits:
- Prepare
for and coordinate with regulatory and third-party audits.
- Ensure
full compliance with KEBs, MoH, and international standards.
Sales Assistant – Lodwar at Keep IT Cool
Job Summary:
- The
Relationship Manager (RM) plays a critical role in driving sales,
strengthening client relationships, and supporting the operational
efficiency of the MDC. The RM is responsible for B2B acquisition and
retention, achieving sales and collection targets, and ensuring top-tier
service delivery. This role also includes assisting with stock management
and operational tasks to maintain high product quality and ensure seamless
order fulfilment.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales and Client Management
- Proactively
identify, engage, and onboard new B2B clients for fish, Ice flakes and
chicken products.
- Manage
and grow relationships with walk-in and corporate clients to maximise
repeat business and customer lifetime value.
- Follow
up on sales leads, inquiries, and customer feedback to convert prospects
and improve service.
- Consistently
meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales and revenue targets.
- Ensure
100% payment collection on all product sales, with ZERO outstanding debt.
- Support
and process orders for walk-in customers at the MDC while ensuring a
professional customer experience.
Customer Service
- Serve
