Role Overview

The Sales Rider is a field-based sales role responsible for driving revenue growth through customer acquisition, account management, and product sales within assigned routes and territories. The role leverages motorcycle-based distribution and Raino’s tech-enabled cold-chain infrastructure as a sales execution tool to ensure timely product availability, excellent customer service and reliable collections.

The position emphasizes selling, relationship management, market intelligence, and collections, while ensuring that all product handling and delivery activities comply with cold-chain standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales & Revenue Growth (Primary Focus)

  • Achieve assigned daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets.
  • Identify, prospect, and onboard new customers including retailers, vendors, food service clients, and B2B agents.
  • Drive upselling and cross-selling across Raino product lines, including white meat and cold-chain solutions.
  • Maintain active engagement with all assigned accounts to maximize wallet share and minimize churn.
  • Promote new products, pricing offers, and campaigns within the assigned market.

2. Account Management & Customer Experience

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships through regular visits and follow-ups.
  • Educate customers on product usage, storage, and cold-chain best practices to improve satisfaction and retention.
  • Gather and share customer feedback to inform product, pricing, and go-to-market improvements.
  • Resolve customer issues promptly and escalate where necessary.

3. Market Intelligence & Business Development

  • Conduct continuous market observation to identify demand trends, competitor activity, and pricing dynamics.
  • Generate and convert sales leads within assigned routes and territories.
  • Support marketing activations, trade shows, and promotional activities as required.

4. Sales Operations, Delivery & Collections (Sales Enablement)

  • Execute route-based sales and deliveries using motorcycle-enabled cold-chain equipment to ensure product availability.
  • Ensure accurate order capture, invoicing, and delivery confirmation via mobile sales systems.
  • Collect payments (including Cash on Delivery) and ensure full reconciliation in line with company procedures.
  • Support freezer installations and onboarding of new clients where required.
  • Ensure strict adherence to cold-chain handling, temperature control, and product quality standards.

5. Reporting & Compliance

  • Submit accurate and timely sales and operational reports, including:
    • Weekly market analysis report
    • Weekly revenue and collections report
    • Weekly leads generation and conversion report
    • RTM and ad hoc reports as requested
  • Maintain compliance with company sales, financial, and operational policies

Qualifications & Experience

  • Certificate or Diploma in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 1–2 years’ experience in field sales, route sales, or customer-facing commercial roles.
  • Experience in FMCG, agri-products, cold-chain, or HoReCa markets is a strong advantage.
  • Riding experience with a valid Kenyan class A motorcycle license  is highly preferred & added advantage.
  • Basic understanding of credit management, collections, and receivables.

Job Purpose:

  • To assist in various production processes including fish processing, inventory updates, sanitation, dispatch preparation, and cold room management while ensuring safety, hygiene, and quality standards are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities:

Processing Support:

  • Supervise and guide casual staff on hygiene, disease control, PPE usage, and work speed.
