PHARMACEUTICAL TECHNOLOGIST (LOCUM) – KISII, BOMET, KABARNET, NYAMIRA,
HOMABAY AND KERICHO
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY
Reporting to the Pharmacy Manager, the successful candidate will ensure
provision of effective, efficient, and quality pharmacy services in the
Out-reach Health center.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receive
and perform prescriptions’ appropriateness reviews and dispense drugs in a
timely and accurate manner as per approved standards and procedures.
- Contact
the prescriber and discuss any inaccuracy or illegibility in a
prescription, document errors and communicate corrections with other
inter- disciplinary team members.
- Verify
expiry dates prior to dispensing medications to patients.
- Check
and confirm that -each label placed on the medication contains the correct
patient names & unique identifier, drug & dosage, quantity and
directions for use.
- Compound
extemporaneous preparations and mix certain intravenous medications as per
laid down procedures.
- Counsel
patients on drug administration and use of drug-related devices for
optimum care.
- Maintain
accurate and optimal drugs stock levels by following ABC-VEN guide,
re-order levels and FEFO rules.
- Monitor
Formulary drugs stock outs, slow-moving stocks and short-expiry stocks,
and take appropriate actions other inter-disciplinary team members.
- Comply
and observe the environmental health, safety measures and regulations by
proper handling, storage and dispensing of medications
The requirements
- Diploma
in Pharmaceutical Technology from a recognized institution
- Current
Practicing License from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
- 1 year
working experience in a busy facility, preferably a hospital
- Computer
literate
- Able
to communicate with medical professionals

Stock Controller – Locum at Aga Khan Hospital Kisumu
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY
Reporting to the Manager Material Management Division, the successful candidate
will be responsible for maintaining optimal inventory levels and ensuring
efficient stock management, in conformity with hospital policy and best
practices, to meet the Institution’s goals and objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Regularly
track and analyze inventory levels to identify trends, potential
shortages, and areas for improvement.
- Managing
Re-order levels: Determine when and how much stock to reorder, ensuring
timely replenishment to avoid stock outs.
- Conduct
regular random stock takes and cycle counts to ensure accuracy and
identify discrepancies.
- Regularly
Check and track expiries.
- Report
on variance to warehouse coordinator.
- Daily
tracking and reporting of slow moving and near expiry items
- Maintain
and utilize inventory management systems in place to track stock movements
and levels.
- Ensure
accurate, timely and complete posting and updating of transactions in the
system.
- Ensure
accurate and timely issue of inventory items to users, departments /or
sub-stores.
- Oversee
the receipt and storage of incoming goods into the stores, ensuring proper
handling and storage conditions.
- Stack
Items safely and neatly in an identifiable and traceable manner.
- Adhere
to the FIFO method of stock movement.
- Manage
and ensure a minimum value of expiries and items being obsolete.
- Ensure
daily tracking and escalation of slow-moving inventory, short expiry and
approved disposal forms.
- Prepare
stock reports to identify trends, track performance, and inform
decision-making.
- Prepare
listings for timely purchase and replenishment of inventory items in
collaboration with respective and corresponding purchasers.
- Ensure
there are no stock outs by prompting the purchaser on items running low on
stocks.
- Recommend
optimum quantities of items to be replenished.
REQUIREMENTS.
- Bachelors/
Diploma in Purchasing and Supply Management or its equivalent
- Minimum
of 2 years post college experience in relevant field.
- Proficiency
in working with MS Excel and MS word
- Strong
communication and numeracy skills.
Clinical Officer, Locum- Nyamira & Kabarnet at Aga Khan Hospital Kisumu
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY
- Reporting
to the Head of Outreach, Clinical Officer shall be responsible for the
management of clinical services at the medical centre, examining,
diagnosing and treating patients and referring them where appropriate to
the specialists.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Taking
history, examining, diagnosing, ordering laboratory and imaging
investigations.
- Interpreting
laboratory and imaging results; treating patients’ common ailments at an
Outpatient health facility.
- Implementing
Community Healthcare activities in liaison with other health workers;
guiding and counselling patients, clients and staff on health issues;
sensitizing patients and clients on preventive and promotive health;
carrying out surgical procedures.
- Organizing
health management teams and convening health management committee
meetings; assessing, preparing and presenting medico-legal reports and
referring patients and clients to appropriate health facilities.
The requirements
- Diploma
in Clinical Medicine and Surgery from a recognized institution
- At
least three (3) years relevant work experience.
- Current
practicing Certificate.
- Membership
