Position Summary
The Nutrition Intern will report to the Assistant
Manager – Nutrition and will support the delivery of optimal
nutritional care to patients while gaining hands-on professional experience in
a clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide
nutrition education to patients, families, and healthcare staff on
individualized diet therapy and general nutrition principles
- Conduct
nutritional screenings and assessments using the nutrition care process
- Develop,
review, and adapt therapeutic and modified diets in collaboration with
healthcare teams
- Guide
the catering team on proper food preparation to meet prescribed diets and
sanitation standards
- Monitor
nutrition programs to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and
standards
- Participate
in ward rounds and contribute to nutrition-related aspects of patient care
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s
Degree or Diploma in Food, Nutrition and Dietetics or a
related field
- Must
be indexed by the Kenya Nutritionists and Dieticians Institute
(KNDI)

Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform
quality clinical and radiographic evaluations to diagnose and treat
diseases of the oral cavity
- Manage
the patient schedule to maximize the use of provider time and revenue
production
- Ensure
the proper input of treatments, payments, and patient data into the
database and ensure that computer files and all patient charts are kept up
to date
- Promote
oral health by providing educational information on all phases of
preventive and restorative dentistry and oral hygiene
- Review
and follow all dental clinic protocols, policies, and procedures
- Document
and follow treatment plans that include appropriate preventive and
