Job Summary
We are looking for a Communications Assistant to support
inABLE’s digital and content strategy. This role focuses on social media
management, website content updates, and content creation (including blogs and
impact stories) to enhance inABLE’s visibility and engagement with
stakeholders. The ideal candidate is a strong writer, creative thinker, and
digitally savvy professional who is passionate about disability inclusion and
digital accessibility.
Key Responsibilities
Social Media Management
- Develop
and implement social media content plans across platforms (X, LinkedIn,
Facebook, Instagram, TikTok etc).
- Track
social media analytics and report on performance
- Create
engaging posts, graphics, and videos that highlight inABLE’s impact and
programs.
- Monitor
trends, engage with audiences, and grow inABLE’s online community.
Website Management
- Regularly
update the inABLE website with new content, including blogs, success
stories, press releases, and event updates.
- Ensure
website content is optimized for readability and accessibility.
- Work
with web developers to troubleshoot issues and improve site performance.
Content Creation
- Write
compelling blogs, impact stories, and articles that highlight inABLE’s
work and the people we serve.
- Assist
in developing reports, newsletters, and press releases.
- Conduct
interviews with program beneficiaries and stakeholders to craft
human-centered stories.
General Communications Support
- Support
the execution of communication campaigns and events.
- Assist
in creating promotional materials, fact sheets, and presentations.
- Maintain
and update communication assets, including photos and videos.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s
Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or
related field.
- 1-3
years of experience in social media management, content writing, or
digital communications.
Key Skills and Competencies
- Strong
writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to craft engaging
narratives.
- Experience
with social media scheduling tools (e.g., Hootsuite) and analytics
tracking.
- Working
knowledge of WordPress for website updates.
- Working
knowledge of graphic design and video editing tools (e.g., Canva, Cap Cut,
etc)
- Knowledge
or experience in digital accessibility and assistive technology is an
added advantage.
- Ability
to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.

Position Summary

Key Responsibilities
- Assist
in posting and filing payment vouchers, receipts, invoices, and supporting
documents
- Support
maintenance of accurate accounting records and proper filing systems
(physical and electronic)
- Assist
with bank, MPesa, and petty cash documentation and reconciliations
- Support
tracking of donorfunded expenditures against approved budgets
- Assist
in organizing donor financial documentation for audits and reporting
- Support
preparation of financial schedules and summaries for donor reports
- Assist
in processing supplier, consultant, and staff payments in line with
internal controls
- Support
verification of invoices, contracts, and supporting documents before
payment
- Assist
in maintaining supplier and consultant payment records
- Support
preparation of monthly financial reports and schedules
- Assist
with audit preparations by compiling required documents
- Carry
out other financerelated duties as assigned by the supervisor
Required Qualifications
- Recent
graduate in Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting, CPA 111 or a related
field.

- Conduct

- Support
mapping of donors by thematic focus, geography, and funding cycles.
Proposal & Grant Development Support
- Assist
in drafting and reviewing fundraising proposals, concept notes,
expressions of interest, and grant applications.
- Support
the compilation of proposal annexes, budgets (in coordination with
finance), and supporting documentation.
- Contribute
to donor reports, including narrative progress updates and impact
summaries.
Donor Communications & Engagement
- Support
preparation of donorready materials such as case studies, success stories,
pitch decks, and impact briefs.
- Assist
with donor correspondence, acknowledgements, newsletters, and followup
communications.
- Help
maintain positive relationships with donors through timely and
professional communication.
Fundraising Campaigns & Events
- Support
planning and implementation of fundraising campaigns, events, and online
giving initiatives.
- Contribute
to digital and socialmedia-based fundraising content in collaboration with
communications staff.
Data Management & Internal Coordination
- Maintain
and update donor databases, trackers, and fundraising records to ensure
accuracy and timely follow-up.
- Track
donor reporting requirements and timelines, and support the Resource
Mobilization team to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant submission of
narrative and financial reports.
- Coordinate
with program and finance teams to gather information required for
proposals, reports, and donor updates.
- Support
internal documentation and learning related to fundraising activities.
Other Duties
- Perform
any other assigned tasks to support organizational goals.
Required Qualifications
- Recent
graduate or finalyear student in Project Management, Social Sciences,
Communications, Business, International Relations, or a related field.
- Strong
interest in fundraising, donor relations, and nonprofit sustainability.
- Excellent
written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic
understanding of NGOs, donor funding, or development work is an added
advantage.
- Ability
to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
