Facilitator: Manyatta-Homeschooling Project at Akili Dada
Purpose
Kenya’s ASAL counties have the lowest development indicators
in the Country. They record some
of the lowest achievements in numeracy and literacy skills which has a snowball
effect on overall
learning outcomes. Girls and young women from this region are the most

barriers contributing to their poor educational attainment and general life
outcomes are historical
marginalisation rooted in extreme poverty, pervasive patriarchal socio-cultural
practices, poor
infrastructure, and a general lack of resources to support access to essential
social services.
