County Lead Community Health, Baringo at Lwala Community Alliance
Job Summary
Lwala Community Alliance is seeking to recruit a qualified
and experienced County Lead- Community Health to provide strategic and
technical leadership for the implementation of its Community Health model in
Baringo County. The successful candidate will work closely with Lwala’s
subgrantee, Dandelion Africa, to deliver the Maternal and Infant Health Award
(MIHA) work plan across four core pillars: Professionalized Community Health
Workers (CHWs), Community Health Committees (CHCs), Health Facility Strengthening,
and Data Systems, with policy and advocacy integrated across all components.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Community Health, with a dotted reporting line
to Dandelion Africa’s Executive Director, the County Lead will ensure technical
quality, strategic alignment, and effective collaboration with Baringo County
health leadership and stakeholders. The role will also support the integration
of Lwala’s community health model into county plans, policies, and strategies,
while overseeing implementation plans and budgets to ensure efficient and
accountable program delivery.
Role and Responsibilities
County Leadership and Governance (R1):
- Coordination
of Lwala County engagement.
- Represent
Lwala at the County Health Management Team.
- Act as
a liaison person between the County and Lwala Community Alliance.
- Convene
weekly, monthly, quarterly meetings to review County progress and plan for
County activities.
- Support
integration of Lwala’s model into county plans, policy, and strategy.
- Periodically
review program detailed implementation plans and budgets.
- Ensure
escalation documented action areas
Implementation of Community Health Activities (R2):
- Provide
technical support to Dandelion Africa in implementing the four pillars of
Lwala’s model:
- Professionalized
CHWs, CHCs, Health Facility Strengthening, and Data Systems.
- Oversee
CHW recruitment, training, and performance aligned with ProCHW standards.
- Strengthen
CHC functionality to support local health planning, governance, and
accountability.
- Champion
CHC functionality and ensure CHW and facility integration.
- Support
onsite mentorship, simulation sessions, and skills-based capacity building
for frontline health workers in partnership with Dandelion and county
mentors.
- Promote
the use of data for clinical decision-making and service improvement.
- Champion
integrated referrals and community–facility linkages supported by CHWs and
facilities.
Program Management and Implementation (R3):
- Lead
implementation of the MIHA work plan and ensure activity execution aligns
with goals.
- Develop
monthly, quarterly, annual plans and progress review in collaboration with
Dandelion Africa.
- Uphold
programmatic quality and ensure use of updated SOPs.
- Coordinate
planning, delivery, and tracking of community health activities.
- Lead
collaborative review and refinement of SOPs and technical protocols across
both community and facility platforms.
- Work
closely with Dandelion’s team to troubleshoot implementation bottlenecks
and ensure real-time adaptations.
- Foster
integration across all four program pillars—ensuring CHWs, CHCs, and
clinical teams work as a cohesive system.
- Prepare
and submit program and donor reports as per schedules
- Participate
in program staff hiring, training, motivation and appraisals.
- Collaborate
with other departments on fundraising and resource mobilisation
initiatives.
Financial Management and Reporting (R4):
- Oversee
Baringo program budgets jointly with Dandelion Africa.
- Monitor
expenditures and ensure adherence to financial policies.
- Approve
activity requisitions within delegation authority.
- Ensure
timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Promote
cost-efficiency and accountability for donor funds.
Documentation and Record Keeping (R5):
- Ensure
consistent documentation of activities, training, and meetings.
- Support
Dandelion to maintain accurate CHW, CHC, and facility records.
- Document
lessons learned and promising practices.
- Maintain
adequate documentation and records.
- Develop
knowledge products for internal and external sharing.
Quality Assurance, Monitoring and Learning (R6):
- Maintain
quality standards and promote initiatives for high-quality services.
- Collaborate
with the Research and Learning team to track and report KPIs.
- Conduct
supervision visits and ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Organize
learning sessions and quarterly reviews.
- Champion
data-driven decision making and quality improvement initiatives.
- Support
documentation and dissemination of case studies and best practices.
- Participate
in sharing learning and experiences
Relationship Management (R7):
- Foster
collaborative partnership with Dandelion Africa teams, County Department
of health and other partners/stakeholders.
- Coordinate
donor and leadership field visits.
- Represent
Lwala in external forums.
- Maintain
good public relations and promote visibility for Lwala Community Alliance
work.
- Provide
regular updates to Lwala’s Senior Managers, PHC Director and leadership
team.
Education and Experience Profile
- Master/Bachelor’s
degree in Public Health, Environmental Health, Nursing, or Community
Health Development.
- Diploma
in Project Planning and Management, Development Studies, or Community
Development is an added advantage.

Research & Learning Advisor – Health Systems
As the Research & Learning Advisor – Health Systems, the
position will play a critical role in driving the delivery of our model by
providing high-quality technical support to both external affairs, program
teams and Research and learning throughout the program cycle to include
assessments, program design, implementation, research, monitoring and

teams and research and learning, s/he will be a thought leader, designer, and

Data Clerk
Lwala Community Alliance is seeking a reliable and
detail-oriented Data Clerk to join our team. The primary
responsibility of this role is to ensure that patients’ medical records are
accurately maintained and consistently updated in line with established
standards. The Data Clerk will be expected to adhere to all Health Management
Information Systems (HMIS) policies and regulations, while upholding the
highest levels of patient privacy and confidentiality.
