ICT Officer (Digital Services) at Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC)
Kenya Broadcasting Corporation is a State Corporation
established under the KBC Act (Cap. 221) and operating under the Ministry of
Information, Communications and the Digital Economy. The Corporation is
committed to excellence in broadcast services to our audiences, customers and
the public. The mandate of the Corporation is to inform, educate and entertain
the public through Radio Services, Television Programmes and Digital Media
platforms.
The Corporation wishes to fill the following position under
Digital Services Department with a dynamic, self-driven and results-oriented
professional to achieve its corporate objectives. Qualified candidates are

Job Descriptions
- Updating
and maintaining websites (news and radio) using HTML, CSS, JavaScript,
React.js, Word Press;
- Updating
and optimizing mobile applications for iOS and Android platforms;
- Testing,
debugging and troubleshooting web-apps to ensure app stability and
performance;
- Implementing
content strategies for digital platforms (e.g. websites, social media,
video, podcasts);
- Creating
and maintaining comprehensive technical documentation for mobile apps and
their features;
- Documenting
code changes and app enhancements for future reference;
- Ensuring
compliance with data protection regulations;
- Undertaking
research to keep abreast of industry social media trends and their input
on content production, distribution and consumption
Job Specifications
For an appointment for KBC 8 an officer must have the
following: –
- Bachelor’s
degree in any of the following disciplines: Computer Science, Graphic
design, Interaction Design, Information Technology, Mass Communication,
Public Relations, Communication studies, Media Studies/Science, TV
Production, Media, Broadcast Production, Journalism, Public Communications
or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
- Proficiency
in computer applications.
- Diploma
in any of the following disciplines: Computer Science, Information
Technology, Mass Communication, Public Relations, Communication studies,
Media Studies/Science, TV Production, Media, Broadcast Production,
Journalism, Public Communications or its equivalent qualification from a
recognized institution;
- Proficiency
in computer applications;

Duration of attachment
The industrial attachment opportunities are available in
various Departments for a maximum (non-renewable) period of three (3) months
with effect from 1st September 2025 to 30th November 2025. The
industrial attachment intake is based on the following criteria: –
- Field
of specialization and relevance of the course
- The
Corporation’s ability to accommodate the trainee
- Availability
of requisite facilities and attachment slots
- First
come first served basis
- Year
of study (3rd & 4th year of study for undergraduate students
and 2nd year of study for Diploma students).
Requirements: –
- 3rd or
4th year undergraduate students from a recognized University or
2nd year Diploma student from a recognized College.
- Complete
