PCEA Chogoria Hospital, a faith-based Level 5 Referral and Teaching Hospital in
Tharaka Nithi County, invites applications from suitably qualified, competent,
and motivated candidates to fill the position of Optical Technician.
Optical Technician I at PCEA Chogoria Hospital
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct
optical measurements, including refraction support and visual acuity
assessments, within the scope of professional training and authorization.
- Assist
in the selection, fitting, adjustment, and dispensing of spectacles and
other optical aids.
- Advise
patients on appropriate lenses, frames, and proper use and care of optical
devices.
- Maintain
optical equipment, tools, and accurate patient and dispensing records.
- Support
the smooth operation of the Eye Unit and promote quality patient care.
- Maintain
professional ethics, confidentiality, and excellent customer service.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A
Diploma or Certificate in Optical Technology or an equivalent
qualification from a recognized institution.
- Valid
registration or licensing with the relevant regulatory body, where
applicable.
- Relevant
work experience in an optical clinic or hospital will be an added
advantage.
- Good
communication, interpersonal, and customer-care skills.
- Ability
to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Commitment
