Payables and Receivables Accountant at Northern Rangelands Trust (NRT)
About the Role
The Northern Rangelands Trust (NRT) is seeking a qualified
and experienced Payables and Receivables Accountant to support
the organization’s financial operations through effective management of
accounts payable, receivable processes, cash flow, and grant-related financial
reporting.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring
accurate financial records, timely processing of payments and receivables,
compliance with donor and organizational requirements, and strong financial
accountability across NRT operations and projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Process
and verify vendor invoices and payments
- Manage
accounts receivable processes, invoicing, and payment tracking
- Conduct
bank reconciliations and support cash flow management
- Support
the financial management of donor-funded and conservancy-based projects
- Maintain
accurate financial records and accounting documentation
- Prepare
financial reports, reconciliations, and expenditure analyses
- Support
audits and ensure compliance with financial policies and donor
requirements
- Contribute
to process improvement and strengthening of internal controls
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s
degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, or a
related field
- CPA
qualification (minimum Section Four)
- At
least 6 years of experience in accounts payable, receivables,
reconciliations, and cash management
- Experience
supporting donor-funded projects or grants management is an added
advantage
- Familiarity
with accounting systems, ERP platforms, and financial reporting tools
- Registration
with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) will
be an added advantage.
