Head of Strategic Litigation at Katiba Institute
Katiba Institute is seeking to recruit a Head of Strategic
Litigation. The Head of Strategic Litigation will be responsible for overseeing
the effective functioning of the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) Department.
The Department comprises practising advocates, a legal assistant, and typically
engages interns, pupils, and fellows on a short-term basis.
The Head of Strategic Litigation will be a member of Katiba
Institute’s litigation team, responsible for overseeing the representation of
KI and other parties or individuals before courts and tribunals, both locally
and regionally. The role also includes providing legal advice on public
interest litigation matters to members of the public, supporting local
organisations and community partners through capacity building, and offering
technical and other assistance to civil society partners.
