Responsibilities
Helpdesk Support:
- Respond
to IT-related issues and queries via email, phone, or in person.
- Log
and track all incidents and service requests, ensuring timely and
effective resolution.
- Provide
technical assistance and support for incoming queries related to computer
systems, software, and hardware.
- Troubleshoot
system and network problems, diagnosing and resolving hardware or software
faults.
Hardware & Software Maintenance:
- Assist
in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of desktop computers,
laptops, printers, and peripherals.
- Install,
configure, and update software and hardware according to company policies.
- Ensure
all equipment is properly maintained and provide support for hardware
repairs and upgrades.
- Source
hardware and ensure ongoing maintenance for reliability and performance
- Engage
suppliers to negotiate better pricing and improve service delivery
- Manage
procurement and acquisition of hardware in line with company standards
Network & Systems Support:
- Provide
basic network and server support, escalating more complex issues to the
appropriate team members.
- Monitor
and maintain the company’s computer systems and networks, ensuring
availability and performance.
- Assist
with user account management, including password resets and access
permissions.
- Manage
head office & branches connectivity including networking, fibre, and
backup connectivity solutions
- Implement
and maintain backup connectivity to ensure business continuity
- Train
branch staff on proper use of backup connectivity systems
- Build
and maintain relationships with network providers (e.g., Safaricom, Airtel)
to improve reliability and support
Documentation & Reporting:
- Document
issues, resolutions, and help desk processes to improve team knowledge and
efficiency.
- Maintain
inventory of IT assets, ensuring proper logging and tracking of equipment.
- Assist
in the development of user guides and training materials for staff.
Training & Support:
- Provide
orientation and guidance to staff on how to operate new software and
computer equipment.
- Assist
with the onboarding of new employees by setting up their workstations and
configuring necessary software.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Diploma
or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience:
- 1-2
years of experience in a similar role providing IT support.
- Experience
with Windows operating systems,Google Workspace, Microsoft Office Suite,
and network troubleshooting.
Skills:
- Strong
understanding of computer hardware, software, and networks.
- Good
communication and customer service skills.
- Ability
to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues.
- Familiarity
with remote desktop applications and helpdesk software (e.g., Spiceworks,
Jira, etc.).
- Ability
to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Electrical
knowledge – Power backup solutions
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge
of ITIL practices.
- Basic
experience in networking.

Financial Accountant at Unifi
Core roles
Ensuring accurate capture, maintenance and reconciliation of
financial information. This role will work closely with the Finance Business
Partner/FinOps Controller and FM to ensure processes are such that financial
data is efficiently and completely recorded at all times. The role will require
management of accounting staff as the company grows.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain
the Chart of Accounts in line with group guidelines and ensure proper
structure within the accounting
- system.
- Ensure
the General Ledger and Trial Balance comply with IFRS, internal policies,
and statutory requirements.
- Review
and approve journals while ensuring appropriate segregation of duties.
- Ensure
accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions with adequate
supporting documentation.
- Perform
monthly balance sheet reconciliations and ensure reconciling items are
resolved within agreed timelines.
- Conduct
analytical reviews of the Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet to identify
risks, trends, or anomalies.
- Maintain
departments, cost centres, and branch structures within the accounting
system and ensure transactions
- are
correctly allocated.
- Support
internal and external audit processes by preparing required documentation
and financial analysis.
- Maintain
the Fixed Asset Register including onboarding, disposals, transfers, and
tagging of assets.
- Reconcile
the Fixed Asset Register with the General Ledger and review depreciation
calculations.
- Ensure
accurate and timely preparation and submission of statutory returns and
tax payments to the Kenya Revenue Authority.
- Prepare
regulatory returns and maintain company statutory registers and related
records.
- Perform
regular bank reconciliations and ensure discrepancies are identified and
resolved.
- Ensure
supplier invoices are accurately captured and supplier accounts reconciled
monthly.
- Support
supplier payment planning and ensure compliance with procurement approval
processes.
- Perform
complex accounting calculations including IFRS 16 lease accounting, loan
facility amortisations, income tax, and withholding tax calculations.
- Support
preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Assist
in analysing variances against budgets, forecasts, and prior periods.
- Support
preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Provide
financial data and analysis to management, funders, and other internal
stakeholders as required.
- Assist
with finance-related queries and ad-hoc analysis as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s
degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a
related field.
- Professional
accounting qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.
- Minimum
of 5 years’ experience in a similar finance role, ideally within a dynamic
or high-growth environment.
- Strong
financial reporting, analytical, and numerical skills.
- Ability
to interpret complex financial data and present insights clearly.
- High
attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Ability
to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced
environment.
- Strong
communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate
across teams.
- Experience
working with accounting systems such as Xero, Netsuite, or similar
platforms is an advantage.
