City Eye Foundation exists to expand access to quality eye
care for underserved communities through sustainable partnerships, outreach
programs, and donor-supported initiatives. The Foundation funds and supports
the outreach operations of City Eye Hospital, working with NGOs, foundations,
corporates, and community partners to ensure no one is left behind due to lack
of affordable eye care.

Role Purpose
The Fundraising & Partnerships Lead will drive
sustainable fundraising, partnership development, donor engagement, and grant
execution for City Eye Foundation. The role ensures consistent resource
mobilization to support outreach and impact programs, while building a strong
and diverse partnerships pipeline that positions the Foundation competitively
within Kenya’s development and philanthropic ecosystem.
Working closely with the Strategic Lead and internal
hospital teams, this role serves as the primary external interface with donors,
foundations, NGOs, corporate CSR partners, faith-based organisations, and other
strategic stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising Strategy & Resource Mobilization
- Develop
and implement a structured fundraising strategy aligned to the
Foundation’s goals.
- Develop
annual fundraising targets and budgets, and track performance against
them.
- Identify
and pursue funding opportunities from foundations, corporate CSR programs,
faith-based organisations, and philanthropic networks.
- Lead
development and submission of high-quality concept notes, proposals, and
grant applications.
- Build
and maintain a strong, well-managed donor pipeline.
Partnership Development & Stakeholder Engagement
- Identify
and manage relationships with NGOs, foundations, corporate CSR partners,
faith-based organisations, and government bodies.
- Build
and sustain strategic partnerships aligned with the Foundation’s mission
and outreach priorities.
- Represent
the Foundation in external stakeholder engagements, forums, and networking
events to strengthen visibility and positioning.
- Support
negotiation and establishment of partnership agreements, ensuring legal
and compliance requirements are met.
Donor Stewardship & Compliance
- Lead
proposal development, donor reporting, and compliance across all active
grants and partnerships.
- Prepare
timely, high-quality donor reports and updates in line with partnership
obligations.
- Monitor
compliance with funding conditions and ensure commitments under
partnership agreements are fulfilled.
Internal Coordination & Impact Tracking
- Coordinate
with internal hospital and Foundation teams to align outreach funding
requirements.
- Ensure
the Foundation funds the outreach requirements of City Eye Hospital as
guided by the Foundation strategy.
- Support
the establishment of monitoring and evaluation systems and track impact
metrics across funded programs.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s
degree in Development Studies, Business, Public Health, Social Sciences,
or a related field.
- Certification
in Project Management or Fundraising is an added advantage.
- Proven
experience in NGO fundraising, grants management, or partnerships
development.
- Demonstrated
success in building institutional partnerships and securing funding.
- Strong
proposal writing, concept note development, and donor reporting skills.
- Proven
ability to operate effectively in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
