Digital Agricultural Transformation Manager at Kakuzi PLC

Kakuzi PLC is looking for an energetic, innovative, tech-savvy leader to spearhead its digital agricultural transformation as Digital Agricultural Transformation Manager.

You'll build and embed Kakuzi's digital agriculture platforms, own the data they generate, and keep total visibility across every stream, verified against ground truth in the field. You'll give managers the daily and weekly insights they need to make sharper decisions, upskill them to get the most from the platforms, and help build the multiple, independent sources of truth Kakuzi depends on.

The position is based at Kakuzi PLC Main Office, Makuyu.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and manage digital agriculture platforms (precision agriculture) across operations.
  • Integrate multiple data sources into a unified management reporting system.
  • Verify digital data against field conditions to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Drive daily use of digital tools and build digital capability across teams.
  • Produce weekly and monthly management reports and actionable insights.
  • Identify and implement AI, machine learning, and data analytics opportunities to improve decision-making and operational performance.
  • Manage technology vendors and support continuous digital innovation.

Qualifications, Attributes and Experience

  • Degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field. Relevant postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage
  • Minimum 5 years proven experience implementing digital or precision agriculture solutions for horticulture, tree crops preferred.
  • Experience in data validation, quality assurance, and/or agricultural analytics.
  • Knowledge of AI, machine learning, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Excellent dashboard development and reporting skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to train others.
  • Experience in horticulture or the Kenyan agricultural sector is an advantage.

Senior Estate Manager - Horticulture (East & West Estates and Packhouse)

Kakuzi PLC is seeking to recruit a highly competent and results-driven Senior Estate Manager - Horticulture (East & West Estates and Packhouse) to oversee avocado production, estate operations and packhouse performance.

Reporting to the General Manager Horticulture, the position holder will be responsible for end to end management of avocado production across East and West Estates as well as the packhouse operations. He/She will ensure optimal utilisation of resources within approved budgets to achieve operational efficiency, high-quality ouput, and high agronomic standards in compliance with company standards and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily estate and packhouse operations in line with production targets and quality standards.
  • Drive agronomic excellence, including crop management, pest and disease control and orchard productivity.
  • Manage packhouse operations to achieve optimal pack - out rates and throughput while maintaining export quality standards.
  • Prepare and control budgets, monitor expenditure, and maintain cost efficiency.
  • Utilize resources optimally to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Responsible for compliance with company policies, audit requirements, and corporate governance standards.
  • Maintain estate infrastructure, assets, and field hygiene standards.
  • Promote sound labour relations, staff discipline, and performance management.
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Diploma or Degree in Agriculture or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years’ demonstrable relevant practical experience in field husbandry, packhouse management, budget preparation, cost control, and financial management
  • Demonstrated leadership and people management capability with strong administrative and reporting skills
  • Strong operational and planning skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High integrity and commitment to corporate governance

Kakuzi PLC is looking to recruit an experienced and highly motivated Registered Community Health Nurse to be part of the Medical team looking after its employees. This position is based at Makuyu.

The successful applicant will be expected to provide wholistic patient care, ensure confidentiality on issues regarding patients, demonstrate safe and efficient use of medical equipment and consistently adhere to the principles of infection control.

Minimum Qualifications and person specifications

  • KRCHN (Kenya Registered Community Health Nurse)
  • Registered with the Nursing Council of Kenya
  • Demonstrable knowledge of MCH and Family Planning
  • Have professional counselling experience.
  • Minimum of five years working experience in an established medical facility. Corporate environment experience will be an added advantage
  • Computer literate
