JOB PURPOSE
The job holder is responsible for overseeing the daily
operations of the Branch, driving sales growth, ensuring excellent customer
service and maintaining Compliance with regulatory and company standards
This role is pivotal in developing and implementing
strategies to meet business objectives, nurture client relationships, and
support team development to achieve operational excellence.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Overall
Administration of the branch to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
- Drive
continuous growth in sales production to meet and surpass the set budgets.
- Recruitment,
Motivation and Retention of productive intermediaries-Agents, Brokers and
Bancassurance.
- Management
of staff in the branch including on-boarding, performance management,
staff development, on-the-job training,discipline etc.
- Ensure
that Unit Managers and Direct Sales Agents are well equipped with Pacis
product knowledge and updated in a timely manner in case of any changes.
- Operationalize
the marketing and customer service strategies within the Branch.
- Identify,
target and penetrate niche markets and create awareness of Pacis products
within niche markets.
- Promote
a positive image of the company through excellent service delivery.
- Play
an active role in carrying out CSR activities within the branch networks
- Ensure
compliance with the company policies and procedures onunderwriting,
especially credit policy and documentation.
- Ensure
that intermediaries comply with all regulatoryrequirements before starting
to transact business.
- Carry
out frequent client visits for customer relationship management,
marketing, major renewals and deal operationalissues arising.
- Collect
market intelligence from various regions, collate and share with
management on emerging trends and changes in the markets including niche
markets.
- Develop
internal control systems and ensure adherence to them by all at the branch
- Submit
specified and ad hoc reports to the Head Office-RetailBusiness Manager.
- Prepare
Annual budgets for the Branch and unit managers.
- Ensure
renewal notices and other correspondence are dispatched to the
intermediaries on time.
- Any
other duty that may be assigned from time to time
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Qualifications:
Minimum Academic Qualification:
- Bachelor’s
degree in a business-related course (Insurance, Marketing, Business
administration and Finance) or equivalent from a recognized university.
Professional Qualifications
- Advanced
Diploma in Insurance – AIIK or ACII.
- Knowledge
of a broad range of insurance products.
Experience:
- 5
years’ experience in business development with at least 3 years in a
managerial position.
Recovery Officer at PACIS Insurance
JOB PURPOSE
To provide effective management of legal risks arising from
insurance claims and ensure the Company operates within the applicable legal
and regulatory frameworks.
To provide a proper and proactive management of all legal
claims to ensure prompt settlement at optimal cost in order to achieve high
levels of customer satisfaction and cost cutting for the Company.
To maintain efficient communication and follow-up with
third-party insurers and other parties to ensure the recovery of claim
payments.
To meet recovery targets and keep recovery records up to
date on a regular basis.
KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Academic
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in law (LLB)
- A Post
Graduate Diploma (Dip KSL) from the Kenya School of Law
- Duly
admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, with a current
Practicing Certificate
- Sound
knowledge of operations of insurance industry and its interface with the
Insurance Regulatory Authority.
WORK EXPERIENCE
- At
least 2 years’ practical work experience in insurance litigation.

JOB PURPOSE
The jobholder is responsible for providing actuarial support
by:
- Assisting
in pricing of medical products and corporate schemes, ensuring adequacy
and competitiveness of rates.
- Supporting
actuarial reporting, monitoring portfolio performance, and generating
insights for management decision-making.
- Reviewing
and approving selected medical quotations within delegated authority
limits.
- Supporting
product evaluation, product development, and enhancement of product
benefits in line with market needs and regulatory requirements.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Medical Pricing & Quotations Support
- Conduct
actuarial analysis for medical scheme quotations including risk
assessment, pricing, and premium adequacy reviews.
- Support
the pricing of group, SME, retail, and new specialized medical products.
- Develop
and maintain pricing models, rating tools, and actuarial assumptions.
- Review
and approve quotations within delegated authority limits, ensuring
consistency with pricing guidelines.
- Analyse
loss ratios, utilization patterns, and scheme performance before pricing
or repricing.
- Support
underwriting teams in interpreting pricing outcomes and advising on
commercial positioning.
Actuarial Reporting & Portfolio Performance
- Prepare
monthly loss ratio reports, performance dashboards, and trend analyses for
the medical portfolio.
- Carry
out actuarial modelling to evaluate claims experience, risk exposures, and
portfolio sustainability.
- Assist
in IBNR estimation, reserving, and actuarial valuations as required by the
department.
- Monitor
performance of key accounts and provide early-warning indicators for
deteriorating schemes.
- Support
management with insights for strategic decision-making, including ability
improvement initiatives.
Product Development & Evaluation
- Participate
in evaluation, design, and enhancement of insurance products.
- Conduct
competitor analysis and market research to guide product positioning and
pricing.
- Assist
in preparation of product papers and regulatory submissions for IRA
approval.
- Assess
the viability of new products through actuarial modelling and scenario
testing.
- Monitor
product performance and recommend adjustments to benefits, pricing, or
underwriting guidelines.
Data Analytics & Insights
- Validate
and analyse data to ensure accuracy and reliability for pricing and
reporting.
- Develop
tools for experience monitoring, utilization analysis, and actuarial
insights.
- Ensure
high data quality and collaborate with ICT and Underwriting teams to
improve data capture processes.
Stakeholder Support
- Work
closely with Medical Underwriting, Claims, Case Management, Finance, ICT,
and Business Development teams to support operational and strategic
activities.
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure
compliance with internal underwriting guidelines, pricing frameworks, and
regulatory requirements.
- Maintain
documentation of pricing models, assumptions, methodologies, and actuarial
processes.
- Support
audit requirements related to pricing, actuarial reporting, and product
development.

Experience

2 years’ experience in actuarial work, preferably in general/medical
insurance pricing and analytics.
- Experience
in underwriting practices, pricing models, and actuarial reporting will be
an added advantage.
Knowledge
- Strong
understanding of general/medical insurance products, pricing
methodologies, analytics, and actuarial techniques.
- Familiarity
with IRA regulations and reporting expectations.
